photomo Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 I am looking for suggestions for a Florida Beach Vacation. We want to be on the beach/ a hotel or resort with a pool but with in a 2 hour drive to go to disney for a day or two. We are planning on going in May or June. Any suggestions would be help. It will be my husband, myself and our 2 year old daughter and possibly my 19 year old son may go because he doesn't want to miss his little sisters first trip to Disney. happyhomemaker25 Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 Jacksonville and Daytona are nice beaches. Jax (especially the Fernindina area) is not really crowded. Daytona is nice but it tends to be more crowded. It is about 3 hours to Disney from Jax and about 2 from Daytona. Tampa/St. Pete is nice as well and only about 2-3 hours from Orlando. SebastianCat Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 I live in Tampa and would recommend the Clearwater/St. Pete area. The gulf coast beaches are a bit more "tame" than the Atlantic coast in terms of waves, especially for a 2 year old. Cars also can't drive on the beaches here like they can on some of the Atlantic beaches. You can fly directly into Tampa International or drive 1.5-2 hours from Orlando International, and you're 1.5-2 hours from Disney. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
