  1. we had a cat that peed on my sons brand new backpack. I saw a comercial for Zero Odor....I ordered it online. (I think target may carry it now) OMG it worked. seriously it took the smell away 100%.
  2. Mpix is awesome!! Professional quality prints.
  3. My husband went to college in MN but lived in Fargo. We go there every other year in September to visit his 2 best friends from college and their families. We have a blast when we go there. The downtown area has tons to choose from as far was restaurants and bars. Also the area has built up tons by the interstate. If it wasn't for the crazy cold and snow accumilation in the winters my husband would move us there in a heart beat. Here is a link to visitor and travel info for the Fargo/Moorhead area http://www.fargomoorhead.org/
  4. thats tough... I can imagine driving gives them a sense of independence. I remember when my grandfather was still alive his driving skills went down hill. I remember riding with him and he plowed into a stop sign. Finally we convinced his doctor to advise him that he could no longer drive. so what did he do? drove his riding lawn mower around town. He was not about to have someone drive him 6 blocks for a hair cut so he just hopped on his mower and away he went. stubborn old man. seriously though I hope it all works out for the best. :grouphug:
  5. if you are really wanting to get rid of it and are even considering low offers, could you contact an auction company and auction the house off. I would put a minimum bid of course so you don't give it away. Here in Indiana I have seen many homes auctioned off especially after the person has passed away and their estate auctions off the house and the contents. The Auction company usually advertises the auctions. In our area we have several people that buy homes at these auctions at lower prices and then turn them into rentals. It's just a suggestion. I don't know the whole story behind your situation. Just trying to be helpful :)
  6. I really do feel for you. When I was married the first time my husband at the time was making very good money and could do what ever we wanted... However I was miserable. He did not treat me well and did not know how to be faithful. I am on my second and final marriage. We adopted a baby almost 3 years ago and I work part tiime. However we live paycheck to paycheck and sometimes have $100 left until we get paid 4 or 5 days later. I must say I am so much happier with this life. Yes it would be easier and less stressful if we had more money but I will say I would rather live like this than have a lot more money and be miserable. I do feel bad for my husband when all his buddies seem to have endless funds and he has to tell them no he can not go golfing with them. One day we will be financially better but until then we choose for me to work part time and be home more to be with our child. I could work full time and bring home more money but it is our choice not to put our daughter into daycare. Hang in there. Just be happy and know just because you have more money does not mean you will be happier.
  7. My daughter has had glasses since she was 10 months old. She will be 3 in October. we went to a pediatric Opthamologist so they had a big selection. We picked out a kids pair of glasses but then they had a machine that warmed up the ear piece and they could then bend them to wrap around my daughters ears so they would stay on better. She has a darp pink pair that have little jewels on the ear pieces. She also has a light pink pair. I think you could just walk in to a pediatric office with the prescription and get the glasses through them instead of the eye dr you used.
  8. My grandson has an awesome name. Madden Wyatt I also like Oliver Owen Dawson
  9. well I'll be a debbie downer here.... when my son was 12 he had a loft bed with a desk below it. At 5am one morning he got down to go to the restroom and his foot slipped and he feel on his rump. i heard the most terrible scream and ran in there. I had to call an ambulance and luckily I did because if I would have moved him he would have been paralyzed. He fractured his spine in 2 places and was in the hospital for a week. He was in a back brace for 6 months and we have physical therapy/rehab 3 times a week for 6 months and weekly xrays and mri's 1x a month. He is not 19 and in college and he had to tell his roommate that he was not allowed to sleep in the top bunk because he did not want to give his mother a heart attack!! They just scare me. sorry again to be a debbie downer but if anyone ask or mentions them I can't help but tell what happened to us.
  10. My nephew is 12 but when he was probably 2 he was having nose bleeds often and during one of his visits at his dr she noticed a few (maybe 3-4) tiny petechia spots(redish/purple spots) and she thought he might have a blood clotting disorder. she sent him to a specialist and he was diagnosed with Von Willebrands disease. His blood takes longer to coagulate. He has to have injections before surgeries and sometimes if he gets hurts he has to have them. He can not play contact sports because of it. However he leads a very normal life. Just a suggestions of something to ask the dr about. It is usually hereditary but a lot of people may just be carriers or have a mild case of it and not really even realize it. good luck to you.
  11. Oh I feel for you :( My son theated that from the time he was 10 until age 14. He acted like he hated living with me and it broke my heart. However, our situation was different. 1. he doesn't have a disability 2. he threatened to go live with his father (divorce situation). My current husband told be that if he threated it one more time to go ahead and send him there. He told me that he really believed my son would be back. Well when he was 14 he threw that in my face again so I called his dad who is now remarried and has 2 step daughters. 1 is a year older than my son and 1 is a year younger than my son. My son went and lived with his dad for 3 weeks. He then called and begged to come home. when he came home he was a different child. He started wanting to be home more and hanging out with us. We had no more tantrums, no arguments about our rules. I really don't know what went on at his dad's but wow that kid actually began to really enjoy our family again. He is now 19 years old and is starting his 2nd year in college and he still comes home quite often and misses his home. :grouphug: to you. I hope it all works out.
  12. for 60-70 hours a week the pay better be real good!! I guess it could be an adventure if she gets days off and can enjoy the ship and the destinations they stop at. Good luck to her. I am a professional photographer.. tell her I said good luck!!
  13. Um I have a Huge gallery wall in my family room that include photo's of my children & all of my nieces & nephews . I also have probably 8 canvas gallery wraps of my 2 1/2 year old daughter and 3 of my new grandson. I also have 2 canvas gallery wraps of my 2 oldest children age 19 & 24. We have a pretty big house with tons of wall space. I have some of the gallery wraps above our fireplace and then in our hallways downstairs and upstairs. I am a photo nut!! I might mention that I'm also a professional photographer so that might have something to do with it.:tongue_smilie:
  14. One of my very good friends had to let her house go back to the bank and had to file bankruptcy 3 years ago because her husband just up and left her and the kids and it took forever before he was forced to pay child support. 3 years later she has worked hard on her credit and got her credit score back up to 645 which is pretty good after forclosure and bankruptcy. She just bought a house. It's a small house but works good for her and was actually able to get a loan at 4%. She said she got a credit card with a small balance and would pay a bill with it and then pay it off the next month and kept doing that. The credit card company would at time increase her credit limit. She only used it to pay bills with and then paid it off. She said that is what helped her credit score go back up. She raised her credit score well over 100 points in 3 years and was able to buy a house. Obviously the bankrupcy and so forth was on her credit report but it most not have mattered.
  15. My husband and I had a very bad patch a couple of years ago. It was a whole year of constant fighting and getting on each others nerves over every little thing. My husband finally came to me and said. Divorce is not an option so we either fix what is going on or we are going to be the most miserable married couple ever. If we love each other we will make it better. From that day forward we both have put in 110% and started letting the little things slide. I'm not saying we have the perfect marraige but it's probably 80% better than what it was. We're going to be together for the rest of our lives so we might as well make it enjoyable and fun if we can.
  16. Congrats. I am sooo happy for you. You will love having a grandchild... no matter your age:) My daughter is 24 and I am 42. I had her at age 18. she had a baby in september. It felt really strange while she was pregnant think I was going to be a grandparent. Keep in mind I have a 2 year old. Lilly is 2 years older than her nephew :) However, that little baby Boy is Amazing. I thank God every day that we get to enjoy him as much as we do.
  17. There are some families where I live that will go to goodwill when they are having one of their big 50% off sales and load up carts full of stuff . They then have their own garage sales and puts higher prices on the items. These same families constantly have garage sales if the weather is nice. They have also been known to buy stuff at someone elses garage sales and then re-sell them again at their own garage sale. Seems like a lot of work to me.
  18. My son had one of the lead parts last year in their high school production... He played Horton. It was the best high school musical I have ever watched. (I've seen a lot) * the music is wonderful * soo many bright colors and creative costumes. Se it if you can...YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
  19. I just wanted to share something that happened while at work today. I am working today and the girl that sits next to me (we'll just call her K) has a sick little girl. She put in for Saturday swap (if available you can swap hours and work on saturday instead of your normal day) today to be able to be with her daughter because she is almost out of sick time. Well there was no swap time available so she was trying to find a family member to go get her daughter and watch her so K wouldn't have to leave work and not get paid. Money is tight as she is a single mom. Another co-worker (we'll call her D) over heard and she had already gotten approved for saturday swap so she could just go out to lunch with a friend and go shopping today . She went to managment and asked if she could just give up her saturday swap time and give it to K so she could be with her daughter. They approved it and K got a wonderful surprise. D stayed and worked all day and just re-scheduled with her friend . K got to go home and be with her daughter and she can work on saturday and make up her time and not have a short pay check. Some people would have just went on about their day and left and gone shopping and out to lunch. Even though this did not affect me directly It literaly brought tears to my eyes today. I am very lucky that I work with Kind hearted people .
  20. I had a breast reduction done 2 years ago. It was covered by my insurance . My surgeon was fabulous. It was a tough recovery but worth it. My only regret is that I wish I would have gone smaller. I went from a double E to a C on the suggestion of my surgeon. I wanted to go to a B but she said most women regret going to a B. So i went with the C but I do with I went with my initial gut feeling. However it has helped my back pain sooooo much!!!
  21. I love the show & DVR it. My 2 year old loves music and loves to dance so if it's a show with songs that I feel are ok for her to listed to I do save the show and we will fast fwd to the songs and let her dance to the songs and then fast fwd to the next song. Now some episodes I don't do that to because of the song content.
