daysaregifts
This is what I'm wanting- maybe you can help? :001_smile: * drawers/tubs that can be pulled completely out, so all little "parts" can stay together * drawers/tubs that can hold a heavier book like a text or reference book * don't think I want the 4 tiered shoe rack, where you use plastic shoe boxes. I don't like the idea of books bending at the bottom because they have to stand up "slouched" :) I know I read a thread about this somewhere but can't find it now. I would love to see pictures of yours if it fits this description. (Hubby is handy so if you have a homemade system that fits the bill, link that also!) Any advice appreciated-- Thanks! Mandy in TN
I have 3 drawer Sterilite towers. The drawers will slide out. They are wide enough for a 1" binder, construction paper, Sister Wendy's Story of Painiting, etc. to fit flat in the bottom. Mandy
krisperry
Most attractive system I've seen, I read on a blog somewhere. They use the Trofast drawers from IKEA Here is a pic of a system like that: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_6-jZ1CLVi68/SxPwZ1Mr_dI/AAAAAAAACCs/ZxZsueSzLGg/s1600/Trofast+Workbox+system.jpg They are using white drawers. I'm partial to the green ones that I've seen ;)
Mama2Many4
I use the drawers too.
BatmansWife
I ended up going with the shoe rack and plastic shoe boxes (green and purple). I didn't like the idea of books getting bent either, so I just laid the books flat on the shelf under that particular box (in the box was the other stuff that went with that book). I also have one of those tall drawer things, which is nice because the books fit in the drawers. But, the drawers are not too easy to remove. Maybe you'll see what you're thinking of here. daysaregifts
Ooh...I do love those Trofast. Wonder how much that system would cost? I love the looks of the square (12x12?) drawers that come in 3 (Sterilite), but I didn't think the drawers came all the way out too easily. Are those the ones that you all use? sterilite 3 drawer organizer

WeeBeaks
For my smallest (4yo), who wanted her own set, we use these clip boxes. She removes the whole box. Since they have a clip lid, the contents are safe if they are dropped. They fit 4 on top of each other in a cube of IKEA Expedit shelving. We actually own 12 boxes, which take up 3 cubes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A1ZKZG/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details My boys (ages 9 and 6) use magazine file holders. Those fit in the same Expedit shelving. Four folders fit upright per cube. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002A2GGDG/ref=oh_o02_s00_i00_details I grabbed a quick pic of our setup in use. Space was a huge limitation here, so these are working. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6106/6350398919_554beb3c06.jpg Edited November 16, 2011 by WeeBeaks

Melodiya99
We use a cubby thing we got from Costco...it's similar to the ikea cubbies with 8 cubbies, but each cubbie is much larger and it comes with 8 canvas type baskets. I can fit large textbooks or binders lying flat or standing up. They cost $100 and I love them:) They're super sturdy too:)
MerryAtHope
Our drawers *can* pull out, but a child might struggle to do so. You kind of have to push in on the back sides of the drawer to pull it out, which I don't find hard but a child might. We've had ours for almost 3 years & they hold big textbooks etc... with no problem. Here's pics of ours! Merry :-)
clarkacademy
Nice! This is nice too. Is that Gallon Man on your wall? Did you make that or did your buy that? I bought him years ago. He is a bulletin board set and I believe he was called measure man but I could be wrong.
woolybear
I had some of those clip style boxes, with the lids that snap on. I have some thoughts: Pros: Big, fit most books Stacks nicely Looks good Doesn't take a lot of space Cons: Okay, I know this doesn't seem like a huge deal, but to me, night after night, it did. Unstacking, opening, filling, reclosing and restacking added time and annoyance to the process. Big annoyance. I don't do workboxes any more for several reasons, but I do recommend some kind of drawers.

That's neat. I wish I had some wall space for something like that.
