FrogMom5 Posted November 8, 2011 Share Posted November 8, 2011 My brother-in-law is in the hospital w/a hole in his lung, pneumonia and some, as yet, undiagnosed infection or disease. He's in a lot of pain due to the hole in his lung. He had surgery this morning to drain some of the infection and we're all waiting to see if this helps him heal. How does a person get a hole in his lung? The doctors told my sister that it just happens sometimes. Does that sound right? I'm worried he has some bad bacteria they haven't identified yet. This came as a shock to our family. My brother-in-law is only 36 and leads a very healthy, active life. He ran a 1/2 marathon just 3 weeks ago. Their dd will turn 2 in a couple of weeks. I am not a big poster and stay mostly on the high-school board. Thank for responding and offering your prayers. They are greatly needed and appreciated. My brother tore a sort of hole into his lung, it was a sporting injury from Aussie rules football. He actually tore and separated the layers of his lung. He had a complete recovery.
