Penelope
Has anyone with a science background who has used these products give me an idea on the scientific soundness of them? I really like what I see, but what makes me hesitant for middle school science curriculum is her background.
Chris in VA
My sil has a science and education backround--she loves McHenry's Elements, but for elementary. My dd in 6th grade ps is doing some of the same activities/content as that book, this year.
Deee
I have a science degree and worked as both a lab-based scientist, and an epidemiologist and scientific writer for 17 years. I think her products are outstanding. I have watered down her Botany sample for my DS10 because I thought it was too much (I wanted him to appreciate the wonder of botany before getting caught up in the science). He loved the stuff we did (especially making a latin species name for the dog) and we'll revisit the level 2 work in a couple of years. I can't wait to do cells. Ellen was great to deal with. She even sent me a refund because I was overcharged shipping. D
Momling
I trained as a linguist and am half-way through "Excavating English" with my older daughter and I'm definitely impressed. The linguistics is sound.
Mom-ninja.
Not to derail, but which of her programs have a creation slant?
Karen in CO
I trained as a linguist and am half-way through "Excavating English" with my older daughter and I'm definitely impressed. The linguistics is sound. Thank you. Excavating English is next on our list after we finish The Brain. I'm a trained computer scientist ( not nearly as impressive as the other sciences), so I'll wait until she tackles my field to answer this thread officially, but so far, the unit we're using is one of the most successful science units we've tackled since moving away from our discovery-based elementary science. AimeeM
I'm bumping this because I wonder the same as a previous poster; do any of her products indicate a strong creationist view?
Capt_Uhura
There might be something about this on the K-8 board. I think maybe it was a subtle intelligent design word?

AimeeM
If you find it, can you link me? I can't seem to come up with anything on search. Thanks, I'll do a search.

Mom-ninja.
Yes, thank for the link. I read through about 7 threads before I had to get off the computer to attend to life. :) It looks like only Carbon Chemistry creation leanings. Any of the others?
