So, he was writings in short amounts several times a day as pertained to school subjects. Mostly, I follow SWB writing recommendations as outlined in her lectures. littlebug42
My goal for my 5th grader for this year is for her to be able to write a good paragraph. In addition, she will be writing narrations for the books she reads for literature/history. These will be done on the computer for the most part. We will continue copywork for handwriting as these skills are not strong for Sweet-pea. She has always had some fine motor deficiency but this is starting to improve. Homeschooling6
Here is what my 5th grade ds is doing: Simply Spelling or what we call spelling dictation. He writes the same passage 3x a week as well as studies it and I dictate it on Friday. Writing With Ease 2 and Easy Classical Modern History, with these two programs we alternate. Easy Classical is teaching outlining and summarizing IEW style. Copywork for Boys by Queen Homeschool, 3x a week. Hopefully we'll start summarizing science but it hasn't happened yet :tongue_smilie:
LindaOz
My 5th grader does: Dictation 2 or 3 times a week. R&S English 2x A Sonlight writing assignment Narrations for history 2 or 3 times a week. A Freewrite on our Freewrite morning 1x a week. It sounds like a lot when I type it out but it's kind of spread out through the week and doesn't seem too much when she does it :001_smile: . matilda
We are using WWS and MCT Voyage. She also does science outlining and we alternate weeks between a science or history report and a creative writing assignment.
