My new Kindle paid for itself in one order!

Recommended Posts

I bought the $139 Kindle with ads +the extended warranty at Staples. It came to approx. $179 total. Today I ordered all my son's books for Great Books on Kindle - the total without shipping and handling (and no waiting) would have been $185! For Kindle, I paid $9.99 for all the books.

I haven't even started ordering my other son's books for history yet! Just wanted to share, because I was having a hard time justifying the purchase. Now I'm a believer.

I could never discuss this stuff, whew, over my head! His books are on their website, go to GBA, then great books specifically, then year 2, Romans. They include selections like the Qu'ran, St. augustine's Confessions, Livy, Dante's the Divine Comedy, etc. Approx 20+ selections.

I love it for exactly the same reason. Plus the space, and having that huge library of (mostly classic) books at their finger tips.

Gutenberg is the best thing since sliced bread!

About Gutenberg, do you download a book to computer and then upload to Kindle or do you have an easier way?

Thanks!

I thought the ad-supported version was $114, and the no-ad version was $139?

We need the location for your great books list and now your world lit list. You just can't post stuff like this without more info! :)

The Kindle is great. I completely agree. I haven't taken advantage of it in school as much as you have. However, when I have, it has saved me quite a bit.

Congrats! :)
