SnMomof7
We used more of a ball and stick method with my first daughter, but I want to use continuous stroke with my second daughter. I do want it to look fairly traditional though :). What is your favorite?
blondeviolin
Zaner-Bloser!
SonshineLearner
Using 3rd grade Handwriting Without Tears; just a thought :) It worked perfectly for my son, and since kids revert back to the first way they're taught, hoping that it'll keep throughout his life, versus printing when he's older. :)
Coffeemama
Zaner-Bloser! :iagree: It's been easy to use and I've had the best results with my son who just turned 8. I also like that b and d start on different lines which cuts back reversal issues.

lorrainejmc
I think you can show a child continuous stroke with any curriculum. I intend to do it HWT K. In the UK, kids are taught this from the start so it never occurred to me that the handwriting books were instructing the child to lift their pencil. robsiew
We use Handwriting Without Tears here. Worked very well for all 4 kids.
kristinannie
I highly recommend Zaner-Bloser. We were using ball and stick with DS5 and it seriously led to daily tears and frustration. I got Zaner-Bloser and handwriting is his favorite subject (along with Miquon :001_smile:). Honestly, I don't know what it is about ZB, but handwriting is no longer an issue and his writing is already starting to look great. I find it very traditional looking and I am pretty sure that this is how I learned to write since it all seems "right" to me!
SnMomof7
ZB is it :). We were doing Peterson and it is more ball and stick in the early years unfortunately. Who actually prints like that? My oldest who I did Peterson with is naturally modifying to a continuous stroke because she sees me doing it :).
kristinannie
I think you will be really happy with ZB! It is probably the way you were taught and it is so much easier to do!
