Mommy22alyns
that the movie Prom is being marketed to 7-9 year olds??? Of course, we don't do High School Musical either, so hey. :glare:

kchara
Never heard of it, but I haven't heard of most movies. I had to go google Silver Surfer or whatever it was when it popped up all OVER my FB. Anyway... I would think that any movie about Prom would be a bit over my 9 yo's head. But she's kept pretty innocent. She's just now starting to grow out of preschool shows (:hurray:)
Mommy22alyns
http://www.pluggedin.com/movies/intheaters/prom.aspx It's apparently clean and all that, but WHY does my 8 year old need to watch a movie about high schoolers??? I'm glad it's not even on Becca's radar.

LidiyaDawn
Why do you say it's being "marketed to 7-9 year olds"? I've seen the preview a couple times and I just looked it up where it was listed as PG, and a "teen comedy"…? It looks like the sort of movie that the 10+ crowd would like... Mommy22alyns
On another board I visit, there's talk of their 7-9 yo girls wanting to see it, and the moms taking their girls to see it. So I suppose it's an assumption of mine that it's being marketed to that age group. Why else would the girls "want" to see it?

Chris in VA
I don't think it's targeted marketing, it's just showing up on channels that 7-9 year olds may watch. It's more of a teen movie--early teen, yes, because it's "clean." But not 7 yos, as far as I know. Hmmm.
