Plucky
I'm in the dream home I can afford. It is one-story, open concept kitchen with eating area & family room, 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths on a wooded 1-acre lot in town. The only thing I'd change is I'd like a separate laundry room. When we bought this house the kitchen needed gutted, after 3 years it is almost complete. I never want to move.
Staceyshoe
Two things I don't have now that I would want: a bath (or half bath) off the master bedroom hardwood floors
Impish
I've changed my mind. What I want most is a house elf.

Stacia
Nothing south of the 49th parallel. Are you sure you're not my dh just pretending to be you? ;) We bought our house almost a year ago. I have a list totally different from anyone else... 2km from dh work 2km from the library 1km from a recreation center (pool) 1km from green space, park, woods.... Love your list. Some things important to us (some we have; some we don't): no home-owners assn. window over the kitchen sink (& lots of windows in general) lots of natural light in the house (windows &/or skylights) not being able to see another house out the back windows (very) quiet street lots of (mature) trees in the yard natural landscape (*not* an over-pruned, over-poisoned by chemicals on a weekly basis type yard) laundry room w/ a big sink (or a mud room w/ a big sink) eco-friendly features (tankless water heater; solar panels; gray water tank; white roof; etc...) attached garage storage room (not an attic, basement, or extra bedroom -- a small, walk-in room where you could store stuff like bulky luggage, pet carrier cages, holiday decorations, etc...) no carpeting w/in walking/biking distance to places like Julie mentioned no smoke smell (no smokers ever having lived there) Edited May 1, 2011 by Stacia
