CalicoKat
in his back is too much..... 1. go anyway with the kids 2. stay home (dirty house that I finally decided was OK to just let go this week as a coping measure for life's crapiness) 3. Other? Son's been counting down the days since 364 days ago. Already called and canceled with the inlaws since I can't do that alone no matter which option we choose. TechWife
Ask your son if he would rather go with you and the kids or if he wants to wait until another day when his dad feels better.
AK_Mom4
I would check with your son - would he rather go anyway without Dad? Or take a raincheck for dinner when Dad's back is feeling better? If he wants to go anyway, I would take the kids and go ahead.
Mrs Mungo
Ask your son if he would rather go with you and the kids or if he wants to wait until another day when his dad feels better. :iagree: If he wants to wait on dad, could you guys do something else tonight like get fast food and see a movie? Tap
Ask your son. If he says he doesn't care, go alone and plan another event with dh later.
RanchGirl
ask your son and present two options such as: a) order pizza tonight and have casual celebration at home, then rescheduled dinner out on x date b) go tonight without Dad and without grandparents
katemary63
We never go without someone. We'd rather wait and have a birthday dinner when the whole family can go. Our children could understand that pretty young.
