SquirrellyMama
This is a horrible book. I can't quit reading it though. I think I'm reading it to see how bad it can get. I want a really good P&P sequel. Is that too much to ask. I remember reading a couple that were ok but I can't remember their names. K-FL
I enjoyed the Diary of Henry Fitzwilliam Darcy Fun "his side of the story" book.
Pink Fairy
An Assembly Such as This I love the first and third book in this series (the middle book is odd and I've only managed to read it through once). Basically, this is the story of Pride and Prejudice through Darcy's eyes. It's the only P&P fan lit that I've finished. Mostly they are badly written disappointments. Yeah, the second one is completely out there and has nothing to do with the original story, but it's still worth reading at least once. But I seriously love these books. They're the only fan fiction I've read that 1) isn't trashy 2) keeps the original characterizations from P&P and 3) Keeps the original writing style of P&P. So good. katilac
I actually tend to find more gems in fan fiction for JA than in printed books. Yes, there's drek to go through, but I find that true either way! I've never LOVED any of the actual books, but I have loved some of the fan fiction. And internet fan fiction is free, no buyer's remorse ;) http://www.dwiggie.com/derby/ http://mrsdarcy.com/index.html http://meryton.com/aha http://scotch-and-sirens.waw.pl/viewforum.php?f=1 Sites vary on what ratings they will accept, and how they separate teen from adult if allowed, so just read the information posts if that matters to you. PinkInTheBlue
An Assembly Such As This (the 3 books) were good. I agree the second one was completely unusual but it explains what happened to Darcy during the time he's out of Elizabeth's life. It's totally unrelated but I found it a fun book. Another one I just finished and found interesting was Pemberley Chronicles by Rebecca Ann Collins. It (like Assembly) was one of the few that used the P&P story for more than just a s3x after marriage platform. It's so annoying. Assembly and Pemberley Chronicles were actually about the story (Assembly) and the furthering of the plot (P.C.).
Little Nyssa
I don't think anyone could measure up to Jane Austen, but I did enjoy that very silly movie, Lost in Austen. A bit of fluff, but fun.
