Melinda
I called the Life of Fred people a couple days ago to check on my order. I had a short conversation with whoever picked up the phone, and he told me that the author of Life of Fred is getting ready to publish early elementary books. I guess he has the first one done or about to be done, but he is waiting until they are all ready to sell any of them (should be soon, according to what this guy said). Thought you all would want to know. :)

SailorMom
That is very cool. Wish they had been around when my kids were younger!
saja1029
Great news! We just finished fractions and DS thinks "Fred rocks!" :)

ProudGrandma
as of right now, what age/grade does Life of Fred start? we are using MUS right now...but I was just curious.
TKDmom
:party: I was just debating about whether or not to start Fractions yet with my oldest. That would be awesome to have earlier books available!

I think they are supposed to know long division in order to use LOF fractions.
ariasmommy
:hurray: I haven't really felt the need to supplement our MUS, but thought I'd get LOF for some fun reinforcement when dd was at that level. Now I won't have to wait so long! It sounds like something my dc (and I) would enjoy. :D
elise1mds
Is there something special about MUS and LOF? Because I was planning to switch when my son when he got to that stage, too.
Dinsfamily
Oh, I can't wait! My ds keeps asking to start LOF Fractions but he's at least 18 months from being ready for it. I hope the early books come out soon!
Rivka
I have only one question. If Fred is supposed to be five years old at the beginning of the existing sequence, does that mean that the hero of the early elementary books is going to be a newborn? ...an embryo? He was a newborn in the beginning of the calculus book. It's anyone's guess how old he'll be in the new books.
