Sunshine State Sue
I remember posting this years ago, but can't find it now. The former method that worked (that I learned here) was to use some dishwasher detergent on it. I've changed dishwasher detergent and it doesn't work with the new stuff. :banghead: Any other idea? Besides scrubbing for a long time with steel wool? TIA! ETA: Well the steel wool actually worked pretty quickly. It was the green scraper thingy that didn't work too well. I'm game for other ideas though. Edited January 12, 2011 by Sue in St Pete
Mandamom
I use a small amount of oxiclean and boil some water for a while. It cleans it right up.
redsquirrel
I make a paste of baking soda and leave it for a couple days. You have to keep it moist and it has to be a thick paste. I have had the burned stuff come right off with water after doing that. If it is just flecks of burned stuff then I have had good luck with a magic eraser. dovrar
Bring just a little bit of water in the bottom of the pot to a boil, add baking soda and continue to boil until the baking soda stops fizzing. It should wipe off after that. Repeat the process until all of the burnt food has let go of the pot.
Julie in CA
Boil water in the pan and add a dryer softener sheet. Let soak & then give it a try. Everything has come off for me.
AuntieM
Yet another boil-something-in-the-pan remedy, I use powdered dishwasher detergent. Just be careful not to get distracted and let the pan boil dry!
