Oak Knoll Mom
I have some Christmas money to blow and I'd like to blow it on new flatware. What I have is old and not very high quality. I'd like something heavy-duty, yet pretty. Anyone have a recommendation?
Lawana
:bigear: Dh got me a set of Pfaltzgraff flatware for Christmas. Opened it, and it turned out to be 18/0 stainless, an "economy" grade. We're looking for something in a 18/8, or better yet 18/10.
Liz CA
Check out Williams Sonoma. Their catalog has a few different sets. I have a set from IKEA but have no idea what grade it is. We will use it until its no longer usable and then replace it with whatever we want to settle on at the time.

OnTheBrink
I got mine from Walmart. It's Onieda. I can't remember the grade of it, but it's heavier and more solid feeling than most of the flatware there. I've always been happy with it. Suzanne in ABQ
http://www.oneida.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign=Trademark&utm_adgroup=Oneida&utm_keyword=oneida&ne_ppc_id=777&ne_key_id=3570340&gclid=CN3a7OumkKYCFaJl7AodgWeLqQ a great company that we have purchased everyday flatware from. I second Oneida.com They have several grades of flatware. Even the lowest grade is good quality. Go one up, and you'll be thrilled. :)
Dobela
Oneida has different grades so you will need to read the box to see if it is the higher quality or not. The better the quality, the higher the price. My set of Oneida 'deluxe' has held up very well for the last 15 years. I recently bought a set of Wallace 18/8 that I love. (Too many of my Oneida pieces were disappearing ). I found a large set for about $60 at Tuesday Morning. If you have one near you they would be worth checking out IMO. Cinder
Speaking of Oneida, this is the set we have. Love it for its simple styling. We bought 8 place settings over 20 years ago and they still look pretty good (um, that is, what's left) considering they've been through the dishwasher countless times.
