UnPrairieMuffin
Mouse Tales, Mouse Soup, etc. I was wondering though if anybody had any idea of where to find books that were similar to Lobel. I just love his style of whimsy. I guess if I'm going to hear it read aloud I want to typically be something I would enjoy! Thanks, Erin

midwestbelle
I don't know how similar it is to the Frog and Toad, but my girls love reading her books.
Carol in Cal.
It seems to me that there is also a series called George and Martha or something like that, about two hippos, that is similar. The Little Bear books by Minerak are similarly gentle and lovely, but maybe a little younger.
readwithem
his other books are fun as well, Uncle Elephant, Mouse Soup and Tales, Owl at Home. We LOVE Owl here. :) You might also like books by his wife Anita Lobel.
LisaNY
The Frances series is one of our favorites! (Hoban is the author) My older dd was a big Frog & Toad fan, too.
plansrme
There is a lovely version of this by Inga Moore that subtly simplifies the language of the original story without turning it into a Dick and Jane reader. She also adds beautiful full-color illustrations, which really help my 4 yo follow the story. It's one of his favorites for bedtime reading. The chapters are a good length for reading aloud, always a plus for us. Terri
