Staceyshoe
I'm wanting to give a book to a friend just as a gift for no particular reason. She's a homeschooling mother and a Christian, and I thought it would be nice to send her something encouraging along those lines. Any book suggestions?? BigMamaBird
I enjoyed "Lies Homeschooling Moms Believe" by Todd Wilson. It's very short and more of an encouragement book than a devotional or a HS methodology book. It talks about the fact that you're not a failure if your kids aren't four grades ahead, play three instruments and speak four languages. MamaAkins
Any of Sally Clarkson's books would be an amazing, uplifting gift for a homeschooling mother. I usually give "Seasons of a Mother's Heart" or "MomWalk."
KnitWit
"A Mom Just Like You" by Vickie and Jaime Farris http://www.amazon.com/Mom-Just-Like-You/dp/0805425861 I love this book and reread it when I'm feeling overwhelmed. It's not really a devotional. She is sharing her life as a homeschool mom of many...and her struggles as a woman.
