Peela
We just got a new leader of our country. A woman. The times they are a changing. Not that she may be any better than any bloke, and she's a politician so that doesn't bode well for starters, but still....shes a woman. Cool. (And we didnt even vote for her!). 3littlekeets
Cool Peela! But, truthfully, nothing can top Australia's gift of Olivia Newton John to the World :lol::lol:. and, really, I'm not joking! I grew up adoring that woman ... from Grease to Xanadu. Now... back to reality----:D. Congrats!
IsabelC
Now I'm seriously wondering whether Livvy would do a better job than Julia...

hornblower
I'm always torn about these situations - whether one celebrates or not. As a feminist, I would like to. OTOH, there are plenty of women politicians whom I'd hate to see in "big" office. One comes to mind immediately.....:glare: But I'll be interested to see what Ms. Gillard can do & whether she can turn the tide for Labour.
