What "kind" of brandy should I use for Tiramisu Cheesecake?

Recommended Posts

I'd use Kahlua. :001_smile: The coffee flavor really enhances tiramisu, imo.

I wouldn't use Marsala I would just use brandy, rum or whiskey.

Kahlua would be good, rum is what is usually used. I think Marsala is too sweet and...wine-flavored. :tongue_smilie: Sorry, I can't think of a good descriptor.

If you need to purchase some brandy, I'd recommend a bottle of El Presidente from Mexico. It is very reasonable, and more than adequate in terms of quality. I would not be so happy to see one of my really good brandies go into a dessert, but El Presidente, I'd happily share.

Christian Brothers, which is ubiquitous, could probably be found in a smaller size (good thing, or bad thing? :D) and would also be a reasonable choice (but isn't quite as good as the El Presidente).
