Judy in WA
My middle school (6th and 8th grade) girls are interested in Marine Biology. There don't seem to be any good text books out for this age group in this subject. Any ideas? Thanks- Judy in WA

MrsBasil
I have never used this, but the person who created it has another blog where, among other things, she talks about pre school Montessori and that's how I cam across it. http://lapazfarm.wordpress.com/ The author describes it like this: Welcome to Fieldwork, my site for hands-on, textbook free, out of the box homeschool science! Our first course is high school level Marine Biology and Oceanography. It's free....

Renaissance Mom
We used the Apologia Elementary book (Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day) plus Awesome Ocean Science (a Williamson Kids book) for our base. We added nature guides, library books, etc. when we wanted more. The Ocean Book by Frank Sherwin is also a good look at oceanography for the age your kids are. Embassy
I put together an ocean study this year for my boys. I used the Exploring the Ocean series. I also used Awesome Ocean Science for some experiments. I broke it down into days if you wanted to see the exact study with the books and videos used.
