bethben
My last nursing baby is now 5. He is WAYY finished with breastfeeding. I am producing a bit of milk again...We adopted a 2 year old 6 months ago now, not sure if that has any bearing. Why am I doing this? Tree House Academy
How long did you breastfeed the younger one? If you just stopped recently, than it makes sense. If not, I think I would check with a doctor.
bethben
I stopped with him almost 5 years ago. Beth
Starr
It can happen. You are cuddling a little one. :)
abbeyej
I went in about this a few years ago. It had been more than two years since I'd last nursed. The doctors I saw said that unless I was soaking through my clothes, there was no cause for concern. In my case it was just a few drops at a time, and it did indeed go away after a while. If you're having more than that, you should go in and they'll probably start with blood work to check for hormone levels. There *are* more serious problems that this could indicate, but if you're just having a few drops (and snuggling your new toddler!), it's probably nothing. TravelingChris
You need to check with a doctor. Are you taking any medicines for anything. I had this happen and it turned out to be a not all that rare complication of a medicine. They will need to do a hormone test. I ended up having a CAT scan to check my pituitary before they realized it was the medication I was on.
Sputterduck
I also had that happen due to a medicine. They checked a recent MRI of mine to rule out a tumor. It's worth getting that checked. It was only a few drops for me. But I'd never had a baby at that time, so producing milk was a totally new thing for me!
