DD loves Magic Tree House books...

During that time I kept reading her more complicated books with higher reading levels, as well as harder picture books.

When she got tired of MTH, she started to read for herself the Ramona books that we had read her over and over. After that she read LWW, which we had also read her over and over, and after that I lost track--she became avid and read everything.

The Ramona books are little harder than MTH so they present a bit more challenge--they were the perfect next step.

Here are some ideas that my DD went to after MTH:

-I second the American Girl doll books

-The Moody Family Children Books (available through http://www.titus2.com/moody-series/index.php, about daily life in a Christian homeschool family, written by a homeschool graduate)

-The Boxcar Children (to get her excited about a series, try the first book on audio...that is what got my DS finally reading them)

-Dragonology Chapter Books (There are only two, but she loved them.)
