  1. Excellent. I had no idea about that site... Stewart is the book we have. Thanks again!
  2. Thanks anyways:) Which book did you chose? I was thinking she could watch the MIT OC video, and then do the corresponding problem set from the book. I would need the solutions manual for sure.
  3. Did you obtain a solutions manual to assigned problems?
  4. Hi teachin! No, it is every day m-f 50 min classes. Did your DC complete Multi. Var calc.? If so, which one? Hoping the other university level math moms will chime in...
  5. Here we go again! Ordered the Calc book and went to pay for the class through EPGY and found that the class has format has changed. It is now fully accredited through the university and is online-live. This is a good change, but Dd is taking classes at the public high school and the times may not work. Some of you commented positively about NETMATH. How is it going? The website states that it is accepted at "most colleges", but does anyone know which colleges refuse credit? I have looked at MIT OC 18.02 Have any of your DC's completed this and felt it was thorough? Thanks for any help...we are quite nervous now!
  6. The best for flying to Hawaii. We've tried them all and Hawaiian is just a wonderful way to get you there. Aloha! If you can get a deal get it now. They are usu double the cost of delta. Yah!
  7. BS @ 25 MS @ 30 Worked full time from age 25-30 (nursing) Would like to continue for a doctorate...maybe someday?
  8. Thanks to both of you. I looked at netmath, but couldn't determine if it is synchronous or not? I know about the epgy! It would be great if I could make it work though. Sounds like hit or miss with regards to a tutor. Dd is a very independent learner but likes having an available tutor. Coming from pahomeschoolers calc BC, she may have a difficult time finding s comparable match. The class was super. The online Stanford hs looks good but it is pricey. The community college is out...too far and meets every day. Georgia tech meets at 5 am our time...and registration is closed. Any other options? Thanks to both of you!!!!
  9. Dd will most likely take multivariable calc w epgy. This is a pass/no credit class. Any dc go this route? I can always give her a grade at the end of the class, but the epgy transcript will state "pass". Wondering if the top schools will dislike this format. Thanks in advance:)
  10. Thank you card and Starbucks gift card? He was doing his job:) nurses start codes and run codes until the physician arrives. Esp in CCU/ICU. He is an excellent nurse and saved your dads life. Hugs
  11. Dd said subject tests were easy! Yah! Scores avail June 10. Today she hardly knows what to do with herself. Good luck to all test takers!
  12. Wondering why it would be a disaster for college admissions? Wouldn't you just provide the homeschool transcript along with the PS one? Up here where we live, it is up the the principal.
  13. I see a musical scale in any environment in which music is playing! For example, if driving, the trees, clouds, or even the steering wheel represent individual notes or phrases. Not sure if this in in the "color" category...but it's my world:)
  14. Julie, Remember that you are paying a counselor for their professional assessment/diagnosis/treatment. You are not paying that person for friendship! Please be honest with yourself, and those around you. You will not get better (and recent posts suggest the contrary) by hiding your feelings. From your past posts, I can conclude that this has been going on for some time. You must be TIRED TIRED TIRED. I hope you can be as honest with your therapist as you have been here with us...You are the hero. Copy off your recent posts and give them to your therapist. Just do it. Remember if you ever feel like ending it all, please call 911. I think of you everyday...big hugs
  15. My niece is an undergrad at UCSB and my sister is paying over 1500.00 per month. Expensive!
  16. Thank you Kathy. This weekend I'll look over the info you've posted. Our Dd is beginning to compile her college list (maybe 10 schools). Stanford is on her list along with CalTech. Complete reach-for-the-stars schools! But yes, there are other schools and even some of our UC's look interesting. Thanks for your help:)
  17. Does the school look at gross income? If so, it wouldn't matter which type of debt one accrues. Does anyone know if the financial obligation is based on the prior yr W2? We have a couple of yrs yet, but this does make me sad...we would be stuck with a very large bill.
  18. Sent you a pm😃😃😃😃
  19. We have had a few penpals over the years, but none have lasted more than a few months... Dd is 11 likes all animals, plays piano and violin, and plays softball and soccer and track. She loves to read adventure novels. Her favorite subject is science. Ds is 9 and loves to read and his favorite books include Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and historical fiction. He plays soccer and baseball. He plays piano. Loves Legos, science, and drawing. We are in California. Any DC's out there interested in having a penpal? My kiddo's are eager to write! :toetap05:
  20. I can commiserate! Maybe w homeschooling it is never done? But, dd has two AP classes now and one online class. She has missed a few piano and violin lessons because of the outsourced deadlines. It seems like something is always getting short-shrift! Good luck and look into online ap literature for next yr. btw, having many outsourced classes means that each instructor has their own holiday schedule. For example, dd has 4 different spring breaks. None of her classes match up. So, our annual family vacation to the desert in the spring is not happening this yr. good luck!
  21. You sound like you have a gem! Is he really lazy? From what you describe, I would say not. Why are you taking away his free time? Because he will not discuss the great books with you? Who knows, maybe it's a controlling issue, or he is blossoming into a young man and needs a bit of independence from you. It's too late for the pahomeschoolers classes for this yr, but if he is only a jr, I would consider having him take AP literature next yr. He would be writing a ton and discussing great lit w his classmates. From what you describe, I would say you have done an amazing job!!!!
  22. Whoa!!!!!!!!! You deserve to brag! She is a very lucky young lady to have you as a mom. Celebrate!!!!!
  23. This looks so interesting! I signed up for the free trial... For current users, would the multi-family use be beneficial for kids of different ages? So if one DC is on the ipad using 8th grade science, could 2 other children be using 2 other grade levels at the same time? Just trying to see the least expensive way this could be utilized for 3 DC's (actually have a 4th here who might be too old? She is taking AP Physics B...any of this stuff at that level??? I have to call the BrainPop people tomorrow though. I cant seem to access my free trial:(
