Gamom3
My Black and Decker has started leaking. I am having to set it in the sink to make coffee, so the water doesn't going all over the counter...don't ask me why it is leaking. I am the only one that drinks coffee, so I don't need an expensive one. If it matters, I want it to be black or the stainless steel look. Lady_Dulcinea
buy 1 pound of coffee for $15ish and get a free coffee pot. http://www.gevalia.com/Gevalia/continuity/enroll/learn_kaffe.aspx?Keycode=118761&redirectInfo=home&usertype=0 If you don't like that pot do some searching they have several different deals. I'd prefer to have a thermal coffee pot. We are somewhat coffee snobs and this is the pot we have after a lot of research. http://www.wholelattelove.com/buyingguide.cfm?buyingguideID=24 I love my coffee :D

Plaid Dad
Are you wedded to the idea of a machine? I've used a Melitta cone for years and it works great. With only one person in the household drinking coffee, a machine is overkill for us.

Harriet Vane
I have to say, it makes a superior cup of coffee and is very easy to use. Just put two tablespoons coffee grounds in pot, and fill with hot water. Let sit three minutes, then push the plunger down and pour your coffee. Mamagistra
Another French press convert here. My old coffeemaker sits alone on the counter, its days numbered... :D

Janna
Glad to know you like this one - I just got one! I'm not sure exactly when I'll be giving it a try though since I'm limited to decaf until who knows when. I'm hoping I can have some caffeinated coffee even though I'll be nursing. I do have some decaf beans that I can "grind and brew" to give this a try, but alas, the decaf just isn't the same. I also have a french press that I love, except that I keep breaking the glass. I think I'm on my 3rd replacement! Gah!
Karen in CO
I grind the beans fresh and then make it in the French press. Wonderful.
