CathyinNC
I'm looking for a US History curriculum that uses a narrative tone, like SOTW. Is there one out there for the logic stage? My son is almost finished with his history curriculum for the year (obviously his favorite subject!) and we have an opportunity to go to Williamsburg in April. I would love to do a lot of work in early American history prior to the trip so it has more meaning for him but I want to find a fun curriculum to continue his enthusiasm for the subject. Any recommendations?
crl
I haven't actually used this book, but am considering adding it to our collection. Maybe it would fit your need. http://www.amazon.com/American-Story-True-Tales-History/dp/0375812563/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1264004902&sr=8-

creekmom
I think Joy Hakim's books on US History are excellent! - Perfect for logic stage. http://www.amazon.com/History-US-11-Set/dp/0195327276/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1264081159&sr=8-

I've read that it is on the liberal side, but how much? I would really prefer history without either, but I think the subject lends itself to opinion. The books are very interesting (story-style like SOTW) with lots of pictures. You might want to check out the books in the library to see for yourself. I know there have been several editions- try to find the latest edition.

The one on Colonial Life might tie in well with your trip to Williamsburg: http://www.homeschoolinthewoods.com/HTTA/TTS/ Jackie Edited January 22, 2010 by Corraleno
