Ailaena Posted January 2, 2010 Share Posted January 2, 2010 There is a company called BeamItDown Software that has a bunch of free books (mostly classics, not loads, dont get too excited) and this interesting format for reading them. I sincerely disliked it at first, but got used to it quickly and actually like it. The page scrolls at whatever speed you like best, but if you dont like it, you can switch it to a static switching thing. For all other books, I use Stanza because... It looks like it will blow the other e-readers out of the water. It is the easiest way for me to download and read books from Baen Publishing. If you didn't know, Stanza has the ability to add different book sellers and public domain sites to its library of download sites. So, you can directly download purchases and free books to your iTouch or iPhone. Just a short plug for the DRM free ebooks Jim Baen provided on his site. I used the past tense since Jim Baen died in 2006. However, the current owners of Baen Publishing have continued this tradition. Once you purchase a book, it is available to download in several DRM free formats. I have been a loyal customer since my first purchase in 1998, when I first started reading ebooks on my Palm. And I love that I can easily transfer my entire library from one electronic platform to another, without having to be concerned about DRM restrictions.
