Caribbean Queen
I want to work on Sunday, or maybe Saturday and Sunday. I check the newspaper and The Department of Labor listings but I only see full-time positions. How can I find a part time job? Should I try an employment agency, or just call places in the phone book? Should I put an ad in the Job Wanted section of the paper?
Annie G
Maybe check retail stores - I work two days a week at Walmart decorating cakes and they are great about accomodating my scheduling needs. And even though they pay $1 an hour more for Sunday, they still have trouble getting enough people to work. And the 10% discount isn't bad, either. Caribbean Queen
Thanks Annie, that gives me hope. I am going to call some places and ask if they are hiring. I just saw an ad in the paper for a part time job and I e-mailed my resume.
lgm
Have you thought about nursing homes, residential homes, and hospice and respite providers? Also night security here is usually available...not a lot of teens want the weekend detail at the mall for example.
thowell
retail merchandising jobs offer alot of flexibility. Just do a search for your local area and you should find plenty. Some are one time jobs and some are jobs that reguire a weekly or bi-weekly store visit. Good Luck!

If you want to consider direct sales (things like Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Uppercase Living, etc.), you can set your own hours. I know a gal who just did 6 parties in one weekend. She made a minimum of $50 a party, and it was probably more like $100-$200 knowing her.
Caribbean Queen
I am so encouraged by reading your ideas. I am going to try some and I'll let you know how it went. I have an interview on Tuesday for the job I saw in the newspaper! I am excited! :D
Catwoman
Just so everyone knows, this thread is from 2009. Spam has been reported. I'll bet she's not even the real Julia Roberts. :glare:
LaxMom
No, I'm sure it is. I'm sure I read somewhere that she took some time off to pimp job application portals on the internet. Positive!

Well, it was on the Internet, so it must be true.
