Acute sinusitis

Recommended Posts

Some people are against antibiotics because they don't want to become resistant to their effects, but given the state of things lately (swine flu and all, doncha know) I would think that they are probably a good idea right now...just to get rid of it once and for all.

I would hate to be immuno-compromised at a time like this.

Your experience may vary, however. :001_smile:

I got rid of my last sinus infection by rinsing my nose with saline solution. And I mean, I rinsed. I put 1 quart of the stuff up my nose 4-5 times a day, every day for about a week. And it went away. And it felt good to do all that rinsing. I never go on antibiotics unless I'm dying because I have a lot of trouble with Candida.

DD10 had a sinus infection last week -- we got rid of it by doing what was suggested above. I now have all three kids doing a saline wash twice a day just as a precaution (very neti-like).

What kind of saline solution? Nasal spray? I only have saline for my contacts. She could do this actually. I'll also get her some Sudafed D as recommended.
