djsmom
If so, what is the proper amount? Does it make a difference whether they groom out of their home versus a salon where they may be working on an hourly wage or commission? The groomer I use works out of her home. I always leave a tip but have never been sure what proper etiquette is for tipping a groomer... so I never know if I'm leaving an appropriate amount or if most people even tip dog groomers. TravelingChris
I tip my groomer here because she is an employee. I don't think you normally tip owners.
Pamela H in Texas
I tip (and have every time regardless). The amount is almost always based on my ability to do so.
DarlaS
However, I own a Siberian Husky, and that lady really earns that grooming fee. I take her in about 5-6 times a year. When I get my dog back, she looks noticeably slimmer. I'm planning on sending her a nice gift card this Christmas. :D
schsmom
Nope..personally I think tipping is over rated. I pay well for my groomer (owner) and that is enough I think.
Mommyof4ks
Nope. I paid $25 for a small dog that they basically shaved, so that was enough IMO. It took all of 10 minutes.
Corraleno
Yes, I tip about 15% for my two dogs every month (Havanese and Maltese -- lots of work to comb them out). Jackie
Tammy
Exactly! Tipping is out of control....
abcinnc
Sometimes. I have tipped occasionally when my dog's fur is in bad shape and I know would take a lot of work to get washed and combed.
