  1. So I have been struggling all year with this new program. We purchased a brand new Geometry curriculum from TT last fall. When we originally purchased it we had an issue with the disc in our computer died all of a sudden. So we purchased a new drive for the computer. After doing this the program still would not work stating URL not found. I spent countless hours on the phone with TT to no avail. They sent me multiple discs and we still couldn't get them to work. So I bit the bullet since TT said it must be my computer. I bought a brand new one. Guess what?!?! It still won't work. I then called support again and they sent out all new discs....guess what?!?! They still won't work consistently. One works one doesn't. The new error message is an adobe flash player script error that freezes my computer when it happens. Anyone else having this issue? If so did you come up with a fix? I have reloaded the program so many times its not even funny anymore. Thoroughly Frustrated Mom
  2. I have Olly as well and spent hours on end and loads of money on it.Honestly I should have filed a complaint with my credit card to get my money back as it never from day one worked right. I spent hours putting in info for it to constantly mess up. I too am looking for a new web based planner as I can no longer waste my time.
  3. I am on the trial as well. So far I like it but $65 is steep for a computer planner because I do well with them (as long as they work) for about 3 months. I just get so busy, sitting at a computer planning is just so taxing. That is why having a hand written one is so much easier sometimes. I have always used WPD paper planner but with hearing all of the nightmares people had I wouldn't touch their program with a 10ft pole!
  4. I did the scholaric free trial and I didn't like it. You just cannot be specific enough in the repeat section. Just not for me. I have not tried the hst online yet...bugs me to pay 7.50 just to not like it, no other choice since I have a mac. Tried Olly and it is super buggy, just wasted hours as it keeps eating my assignments even though I save them. SOOOOOO FRUSTRATED!!! I guess it will be back to the old paper and pencil until someone gets real with these programs.
  5. This program is super buggy, constant error messages, weird interface. Not what I expected for a mac program. Usually mac programs are super easy to understand and far from buggy. I just spent the better part of 5 hours wasting my time. All I can say is thank goodness it is a trial and I didn't pay for this. Rant over:tongue_smilie:
  6. I got the new calandar year stuff fixed but am still trying to figure out how to assign a lesson(assignment) to the assignment calendar. Just doesn't seem to work for me.
  7. I tried to add a user. I put in my daughters name and when I go to the calendar drop down it does not allow me to choose her name???
  8. How do I add a student to the active school year so that I can drag assignments?
  9. What is the difference between a lesson plan, a learning plan and an assignment? I just want to list out my courses, type in the assignments and assign them. It just seems like a lot of clicking. I rewatched a video. Now trying to actually get an assignment in the calendar.:001_huh:
  10. Ok please help me love this thing! I have spent a few hours playing with it and am completely miffed! It has not been very user friendly and I am so tired of these planners being so darn difficult. I just want to load my kids daily lesson plans and have a way to keep track of what is done and what is not done. Why so many inputs? I have watched some of the training videos but it does not seem to help. Why do I seem to be the only one this isn't working for?
  11. I like the idea of having a mac based planner but my issue is I downloaded it and it isn't a full version so I can't see if it actually works for me or not. It does not allow me the option of typing in new lesson plans. Only journal entries show up?? Any suggestions?
  12. As a newbie to this forum I have to ask. What does HST stand for so I can research it. Thank you.
  13. Finally!! I'm not learning something the hard way! I am so glad I checked out what you are all saying about it before I bought. In theory it sounds great, when it is actually developed. Thanks Ladies.
  14. I was born again just a few years ago, but I spent a lot of my time going through the motions for years before. I love the Lord, I love to serve. With that said, I am human and have many flaws and am not worthy of the blessings he has given me. I fail regularly, I stumble often. I do need accountability. I do need fellowship. Taking up my cross has been extremely difficult. I had to learn and constantly have to "check" my attitude about why I attend church. Am I going to receive a blessing or be a blessing? I am very critical and I can always find a flaw in whatever church I am going to. I need to coach myself so that I am not always narrow minded. After having some internal struggles this week I decided just like any other area of my life, church to can be a trial and God is teaching me and growing me through all of this. So I am choosing to praise him in the storm. It isn't always easy and sometimes moving churches is necessary but for me, a lot of it has been ME! I pray that each of you whom is having troubles hears from the Lord and he continues to guide you through this difficult time. We need his guidance, we need to submit to him, it is hard but it is what he wants. Blessings to each of you today!
  15. I guess because we have already purchased a curriculum and there is no extra money for anymore this year, I need to find something to boost my skills. So I guess I will check out some of the suggestions to help me and my inadequacies in math.:tongue_smilie:
  16. Ephesians 5:19-speaking to one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, I always refer to what does the word say. Essentially all of the above is fine in the eyes of the Lord. There are 2 points that always come up when talking about this. 1) Do you only like one kind of music because "legalism" has crept into your church life? and/ or 2) Do you go to church to BE a blessing or receive one? Personally when I was very first saved I did not like hymns at all. But as I grew in the Lord I realized that was a flawed theology on my part. I asked in prayer for God to reveal the purpose of hymns and p/w music alike. Boy did He ever. So now we sing both and understand the purpose for both. With that being said, we only try and sing the p/w at church that glorifies/edifies the Lord. Blessed be your name, Beautiful Saviour etc. We have also changed a few hymns music to modernize the tune some while keeping the words to the hymns the same. My 2 cents. Thanks for the discussion :)
  17. So this is my third year homeschooling. I am figuring out quickly that my weakness in school has become my childrens weakness. This is killing me. I have one word. MATH! UGH! I have been struggling with anything and everything to do with math. Please tell me I'm not alone in this as it has been very frustrating for me. I have tried 3 different curriculums so far for math and each one has it's different problems it presents me. I've had many days I wish someone else was teaching my kids math.
  18. Although I'm not the kind of gal who really enjoyed being pregnant, I sure do love my kids. Unfortunately due to a hasty decision my DH had a vasectomy and now I want more. I struggle daily with the decision we made, I could never ask him for a reversal, it just wouldn't be fair. So alas, I want more but can't. I have looked into foster/adopt but just don't know if it will work for our family. It's in Gods hands now.
  19. I used it as my second year of HS and loved it. Now that being said it isn't without flaw. I didn't really like the geo pages, just kind of busy work, and the science was slightly lacking, I wish there were more pages for science work. Other than that it was pretty good. I am using alot of the mfw books this year for hx to do creation to greeks. I opted to not spend the $ on the entire thing for this year but next year may be another story...we'll see:)
  20. I loved the book and the conviction it gave me! I'm now reading his Forgotten God. No doubt he is a Paul, he tells it like it is, I really like that about him.
  21. Midlands of SC here. Newberry County. Welcome :)
  22. :iagree::iagree::iagree: Too funny. Yeah funny how so many want to be your friends but when you send them a note they are too good to talk to you...too funny. Glad I'm not the only one. I do use it alot with family though. For me it has been nice since I am 1100 miles away from home, other then that I have little to no use for it anymore, the newness wore off.
  23. Thank you all so much for the input. It has been a lot of pondering which way to go. We are excited for our journey so far for foster/adopt most people say a year. I guess if we plan for it that way and it takes longer fine. As far as the microscope thing- we have nothing to hide but I'm very protective of my family and fear of the unknown always makes me nervous. I am so glad to hear it has worked out for so many. Very encouraging indeed.
  24. The old adage rings true...if you think you will be offended....don't read it and certainly don't respond to it! No one forces anything we read down our throats, but good advice for board people is if it upsets you move on. We are all different people with different views. Everyone is entitled to their view point without having others tell them they are wrong or need to word things differently. my 2 cents.
