Book a Week in 2009 * Week 29 Book 30 *

Recommended Posts

Today starts Week 29 in the quest to read 52 books in 52 weeks and should have you starting book # 30. The year is half over and we are halfway towards our goal of reading 52 books for the year. Keep up the good work.

You may post your reviews, thoughts, reactions to the books you've read here or on the 52 Books in 52 Weeks Blog.

*******************************************

This past week I finished "Black Ice" by Anne Stuart. I really like this author and will be looking for more of her books. Also "Kill Zone" by Vicki Hinze - first time author read. Like her style too. Will be starting "Temptation Ridge" by Robyn Carr - # 7 in her Virgin River series. Looks like I'm on a Romance and Suspense kick. Lots of interesting books waiting to be read on my TBR shelf.

What book are you starting this week and what books are waiting that you are looking forward to reading?

Guest Virginia Dawn

I'm reading Baudolino by Umberto Eco. I was tempted to quit after the first few pages because of some vulgarity. I'm glad I didn't though. The story is entwined with history, of course, and is quite fascinating.

I don't remember when I last posted for this thread, so the last four I read are:

#34 - Write It When I'm Gone: Remarkable Off-the-Record Conversations with Gerald R.Ford, by Thomas M. DeFrank

#35 - And the Shofar Blew, by Francine Rivers

#36 - The Secret (Seasons of Grace - Book One), by Beverly Lewis

#37 - Embrace Me (Believing is Seeing), by Lisa Samson

Currently reading "The Know-It-All" by A.J. Jacobs. I am finding it a little slow-going for me (don't know if it's just everything going on right now, or the book itself). I also dislike some of his language that he tosses in here and there. I'm determined to finish the book since I've put enough time into it already!

I LOVED Embrace Me!

Let's see, this week I'm reading Scent of Murder, by Virginia Smith. Before that I read Deadly Intent, by Camy Tang. And next up is either Any Minute, by Joyce Meyer, OR The Hope of Refuge, by Cindy Woodsmall.

Reading is my favorite passtime. Last year I read over 100 books and kept track on Shelfari.

I thoroughly enjoy their Sister Agatha mysteries. Going to try one of their Ella Clah Novels soon. I've been getting them at the used book store. May have to break down and actually buy new from amazon. :)

I picked it up on a whim at the library, and enjoyed it quite a bit. I just requested another one -luckily our library has most of them. The Ella Clah ones look good too.
