Lisa at Home
Thanks so much to the authors of the Dangerous Book for Girls! Dd has short-sheeted the bed of our expected guest ministry who will arrive this afternoon. I am disinclined to allow things like this, but I am the original no fun mom. He might get a kick out of it, being that he can be a fun guy (the wife is not travelling with him). He's Canadian, if it matters. Do Canadians know about short-sheeting beds? My grandparents were social butterflies, and had frequent houseguests. They *always* short-sheeted the beds and everyone always had a great laugh. But I am just so darned anal. Would you allow it? ~Lisa
Claire
I would allow it among children, but I wouldn't allow my child to do this to an adult house guest. I'm not much of a fun Mom, though. :) I like to allow fun, but I'm not great at instigating it......
Laura in VA
Has this man ever stayed at your house before? How well do you know him? I would only allow it if I was certain he would think it's funny.
Remudamom
Our pastors come down to the ranch a couple of times a year to hunt. I'd let the kids short sheet their beds in a heartbeat. They are younger guys and they sort of disinegrate mentally when they are here.

Friederike in Persia
We must have posted the same minute:D
*anj*
Don't worry. I didn't learn about this until I went to college. Here's a video. Oh, and I wouldn't allow my child to do it to an adult first time guest either. If he comes back, he's fair game though! :D
Kate in Arabia
I really don't like practical jokes, either giving or (especially) receiving. I suppose I am the ultimate party-pooper, lol, I would veto.
Lisa at Home
But he's not a common guest, either. He stayed with us once about 13 years ago. Since that time, the pastors acquired room for several guests, and we didn't have the opportunity after that. Now, we live in a different state, and he is coming here expressly to spend time with us. Obviously, he knows us by name, so we are more than aquaintances. Does that change opinions? :) ~Lisa
Tammy
I wouldn't call that a practical joke....it is much too lame, LOL! I really don't get it though... If I was staying with someone...and found the bed like that....I would just think they didn't know how to properly make a bed, LOL.

Tammyla
No, I wouldn't do that to a house guest. It's more the kind of "young kid joke" a brother or sister would play on one another.
RoughCollie
No, not to an adult. It is not respectful, IMO. To another child would be fine.
