  1. I made a letter shirt a while back and I just went into MS Word and picked a font that I liked. I made the font size big enough to fit the shirt (something like 500) and printed it on my printer.
  2. Here is my answer: Kitty Jones Mary Robinson Sherri Smith Caroline Brown. I basically plugged in the numbers and ran the math until I got the correct answer. It took me about 4 tries to get the right answer. I bet there is a better way to do this, I just don't know it! I have no idea what level math this is.
  3. my guess would be that your leaning on your bars too heavily and/or you have an ill-fitting bike. You should probably change hand positions more frequently or if you ride a lot have someone knowledgeable take a look at your position. When I ride my mountain bike (around the neighborhood with my kids) my hands always go numb. This happens because the bike doesn't fit properly and my weight distribution causes too much pressure on my hands. Unfortunately, I can't justify replacing it since it gets so little use. (Also, if you don't have a good pair of padded cycling gloves, get some, that might help.)
  4. I must be the only person who had a different experience. My OB told me I could do any exercise as soon as I felt up to it--no restrictions whatsoever. (I ran a half marathon at 18 weeks and a biathlon (run/bike) at 30 weeks with his blessing, so he knew I was fit already.) I went for a walk 2 days postpartum and was running again within a week. I never had any problems and my only caution was to cut back if my bleeding increased. There is a book called Exercising Through Your Pregnancy by James Clapp, MD that takes a very positive look at exercise and pregnancy. I can't remember definitely whether or not it talks about postpartum exercise, but it's worth checking to see if your library has it.
  5. Last year I went with art supplies (crayons, coloring books, water colors, markers, etc). Everything is really inexpensive right now with all of the back to school sales. This year I bought a few random items from Oriental Trading, copied all of the pictures into a Word document and then let the kids to a scavenger hunt--so the goodies were also a game. OT trading has cute things that are better than the usual "junk" for cheap. We did water balls, foam airplanes, swirly lollipops, jump ropes, bubbles and stickers, I think. I like the idea that other posters have mentioned about doing one nicer gift.
  6. August 12 is still a few weeks away. Any chance you could invite the family for brunch after church or something along those lines to make you a little more comfortable? Otherwise, I would go with the 10pm (or other suitable) pick up time.
  7. Can I piggyback another question and ask if you really need Singpore K book (text or work) A? I was planning on starting with B, thinking that A was just counting and making patterns and such, but now I'm worried that I will be missing something.
