I am just so blah about homeschooling right now...
lynn replied to Kelli in TN's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Time for a field trip to purity dairy. Are you near there? I think it's near Nashville, all the ice cream you can eat:p Plus a tour and other free product. I believe you just have to call and schedule a time. -
Runners Unite! Here's your chance to check in...

I have been very suprised that after 5 months of running regularly and hearing people ask about my knees and back I can honestly say I have not had any problems. However, I moved on and off through the years with walking, aerobics, weight training, nordic trac through the years. this may be why. I also STRETCH. I think some aches and pains may be hereditary. I replace my running shoes every 3 months because the ball of my foot does start hurting. I am guessing because I run heavy and once that coushin is gone from the shoe and I start feeling it I get new ones. -
Do you ever feel guilty letting Dad pitch in?
lynn replied to MomofSeven's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Why feel guilty. He's their dad and if he chooses to read and tuck them in you should be thankful and enjoy some extra time for yourself. -
First thank you for being your openess on this. I think you let me have it when I was wavering last year regarding my hsing decision and well although I did all the research, purchased the best of the best curriculum for my kids, my dh had a day off work and said "you don't need to be doing this right now" and we spent that day enrolling the boys, getting haircuts, purchasing some clothes, shoes, supplies etc. It was the best thing. My oldest is so content and doing very well. He's in ROTC, took an art class and discovered his artistic talent, and is really enjoying the choices of classes honors, ap, electives etc. My middle son likes his teachers, middle school is middle school with the finding the social status issues but he is thriving and doing very well he really likes the projects he gets to do. My 2nd grader well he's so far beyond 2nd grade is the ps but for now it's okay. Once they were enrolled I signed up for online classes at the community college, took up running and life is good. Like you stated you knew you were done whenyou couldn't give them your best, or something like that. I am right there with you.

My story. Last August I had enough with feeling sorry for myself, my dd was almost 2 and I hated the way I looked. I found a running program in prevention that looked doable and dh I have to do this my way. Which meant getting up at 4A and getting my behind out that door and I did this morning after morning after morning and well 4 months last 30lbs lost and I could run 5-7miles. I've gotten lazy in these winter months but try to get at leat 3-5miles a day along with cross training and weight training. Goal right now run 10K this fall. I love running it feels so good to get inmy zone and finish my 1 hr or more. Some days I go house by house and cry but make myself do it because I know I feel so good when its over. I am down 2 sizes and feel great. -
My boys I learned to just wait until they were 3 and pretty much said okay no more diapers and that was it. My dd is 2 and has not interest she doesn't respond to bribes. I am not in a hurry but I thought girls were easier and she shows no interest? She had great communicaiton skills which I thought were part of the process. Just curious.

My 2yr dd has quite a vocabulary. She told my neighbor yesterday that her dog looked comfortable. She also uses phrases like "I'm so proud of you", "that's delicious", "what a beautiful baby". No baby talk for her. People can't believe she's only 2. Then again when you are hsing they pick up quite a bit through the read a louds and just general listening in on things. She surprises us sometimes with the stories she puts together. She also does the typical alphabet and counting I think we are up to 12 and counting down from 10

Movies my boys liked, Holes, the sandlot, field of dreams, angels in the outfield, garfield, kid in king arthur's court, narnia

Hmm, not to sure we are trying to eat more organic so it's been a little off as we figure out what is worth the extra $$ and what it isn't. What stores have the best prices and selection for what we want. We just had a publix open that has a huge organic selection with decent prices so in a month or so I'll see what my adjusted grocery bill is as we get rid of processed, chemical induced foods from out diet.

You know, this just does not suprise me. I've heard of churches handling some situations in what I would consider "unchristian" ways.

I heard this through my sister that lives near her. I asked if she thumped her up side the head to knock some sense into her... She was just as shocked as I was when she told me. Just when we think L can't get anymore um oh I don't know the exact word to use let's try ignorant she always says or does something to make us think she's a few french fries short of a happy meal. How many webkins would my 8 year old buy his tax refund money?

Anyone else planning to join the eBay strike?
lynn replied to Claire's topic in General Education Discussion Board
No, I am not joining the strike. I have not had any problems. -
DH went to Harrod's when he was in London and got me my valentines gift of amazing chocolate hearts and a heart shape wedgewood picture frame, made in England, not China. He also brought home tea, a variety of candy for the kids, that was an interesting experience trying what they have there, same candy different name, tea biscuits for dd and I to have at our "tea parties", he went to a bookstore in Cambridge and purchased a classic English children's book for dd, and of course he save some currency for the kids. We are planning a vacation there when dd gets older.

From what I understand yes, if you have knee problems. I have been very lucky and found a new balance style that really works well for me an I usually find them at Kohls for under $50 however I run daily and replace them every 3-4 months. I wonder if I got fitted properly if it would be worth the money to get some that lasted longer.
