  1. 2007-Thailand-$18,000-dh and I traveled and stayed for 10 days in Bangkok. Logan was 2 years and 3 months old.
  2. We are going in September and I would like to have some beach portraits done. Any recommendations?
  3. My dd is 8 1/2 (50" and 52lbs) and is still in a booster. She has been given the info that it is safer for her to ride in the seat and actually refuses to get into a car without a booster.
  4. Yikes! My dd had something similar happen, but it was the back of her earring. The skin grew over it and we had to make a trip to the doctor to have it removed.
  5. Thanks for the replies. I think since the multiplication chapter is just an intro-I'll just continue on, but make sure to spend some extra time daily doing her addition/subtraction drills. Thanks to jenL for the Cool-Math link.
  6. When using Singapore should I follow the sequence of order in the book? We are in 1B and the next chapter is introducing multiplication. My dd understands the concept of addition and subtraction and does well as long as she uses her number line or a manipulative. She does not have the tables memorized. Is this necessary? Should we skip on to telling time and money while working on the memory work and then come back to the multiplication/division?
  7. My sister and I shop together every year on Black Friday and I used my debit card for all purchases except lunch (cash).
  8. This is the order the DS was released: DS, DS lite, & now the DSi. My oldest has the DS lite and we are getting my daughter one for Christmas. They both had/have gameboys, so the DS is an upgrade. The DS lite is slimmer than the regular DS and has a backlite for better viewing. The DS lite will play both DS games as well as Gameboy cartridges (the small rectangle ones, not the older square ones), so he wouldn't have to give up his games. The DSi has a camera option, but I'm not sure if the games are interchangeable. If you aren't opposed to buying used Gamestop has the DSlite on sale right now for $59. I'm going tomorrow to pick one up for my daughter.
  9. My 2 sons had their vax yesterday morning. It hasn't affected my oldest, but the younger, who has CP, took a 2 1/2 hour nap yesterday and just woke up from a 3 hour nap today. Otherwise he is fine.
  10. Ghost It made me cry before Patrick Swayze passed away, but I saw it the other night and was hysterical:sad:
  11. My ds started with Fractions in August and we just started Decimals yesterday. I'm assuming we will finish up shortly after the first of the year.
  12. We bought it at Lowes-called "cream in my coffee". It has been my favorite paint choice in 12 years of owning a home.
  13. How did she apply for the WIC, medicaid, & food stamps? I would assume through Department of Human/Child Services. This would be a good place to start. I'm not sure about the guidelines in your state and section 8 housing, but here they would not be eligible as a couple. The girlfriend/baby could qualify, but since they are not married and your ds is able to work-he would not. I agree about checking with local churches. Our church helps sponsor what is called the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Families actually live at each church involved for a week at a time. During the day local agencies help these families find jobs, housing, & any other need they can fill. Best of luck to your family.
