  1. Oh that’s helpful. Thanks! Are the different color workbooks all the same difficulty level?
  2. If you are using this for junior high, roughly how much time are you spending each day? I’m hearing a lot about needing more than one year to finish a workbook.
  3. Does anyone know if these plans are for 4 or 5 days a week? Has anyone used them?
  4. Has anyone taken the Expository Writing Class from Sarah Bouse or Margaret Strickler? What did your kid think? Trying to pick a class for Expository Writing 1 for my daughter next year Edit: Nevermind, I found the teaching samples
  5. How much more does a college bound student need to cover, composition wise? My 13 year old and I are creeping through book 1, at best.
  6. Anyone know of any charts that line this up with SOTW 4 or Biblioplan 4?
  7. We’ve been using CLE so far, just the grammar parts. But the samples of the upper middle school grades look different that the editions we’ve been using, and I’m wondering if it’s time to switch to a straight grammar program.
  8. (Copying this over because I put it in the sub forum by mistake) My last undecided subject! Cutting it close this year. Looking for one of these for my sixth and seventh grader to be using for the next few years. Any opinions on which is the most thorough and comprehensive for junior high?

  10. Trying to vary my girls reading lists some, especially since this is a favorite genre of theirs. I’m thinking The Perilous Gard and The Sherwood Ring by Elizabeth Pope. And maybe The Gammage Cup. Any good ideas? We’re going to do Tolkien next year along with the World Wars
  11. I love the Story of Civilization audiobooks. The Teacher’s Guide I’ve seen has discussion questions and projects and there’s a test book, but no extra history reading or literature. If I go with Biblioplan, SoC will definitely be added in
  12. I get distracted by RC History regularly, but the lack of world history after the Age of Exploration is kind of a deal breaker this year
  13. Any Catholic families tried this? Any tips and resource recommendations? I’m in the distracted by new things stage of homeschool planning
  14. I’m bumping this because I loved this class so much and I am teaching it again this year
  15. This looks perfect for us, but I can't figure out how to subscribe for a homeschool instead of a whole classroom.
  16. So, did it take your son up to 4-5 hours to do both end of chapter problem sets or just the challenge problems?
  17. This is a great spreadsheet! And thanks for reminding me of the Collier books. I’d forgotten I had some of them from when I did American history before
  18. If you use Aops prealgebra, how long does it usually take your students to complete the review problems and challenge problems at the end of each chapter?
  19. I would love to see that Literature of Worldviews in Classic Sci-Fi reading list
  20. My preteens have decided that CNN10 and the new Nightly News for kids are for little kids. What's the best 'adult' written news that still provides lots of context? I find that they often don't have any knowledge of recent history, to explain, say, why the world isn't real big on Putin right now.
  21. I’m making up my reading lists for 6th and 7th grade next year. What have been the favorite or most valuable books your family read to go along with 1600-1850 history?
