  1. Day 68 of 80 day obsession. Only two weeks left!
  2. Day 67 of 80 day obsession, cardio core
  3. Yes, the cows are out on pasture. The grizzlies get really aggressive and less shy this time of year as they're bulking up for winter hibernation. We also have a lot more grizzlies than most people think. No official workout yesterday, as we weaned calves and shipped all the steer calves to market. According to my fitbit I walked over 7 miles and was at cardio heartrate for 34 minutes, so I'm calling that a good workout!
  4. Day 65 of 80 day obsession: leg day
  5. Yes, we're up in the Rocky Mountains in British Columbia. We don't have a lot of snow yet, and it's mostly melted, although it is lightly snowing again already. Soon enough we'll have a good cover of snow that lasts all winter. Right now I'd welcome a good layer of snow, it makes tracking predators easier because in the snow you can follow the footprints and blood easily. We lost two pregnant cows to a grizzly bear last night, including one of my favorite cows🤬
  6. The sun was out and most of the snow melted, so I went for a run with the dogs instead of doing cardio inside.
  7. @IvyInFlorida beautiful! Sorry to hear you're not feeling great but glad everything is going well with the baby boy 🙂 Day 63 of 80 day obsession. Running on fumes after only a couple hours of sleep, there was a kerfluffle in the duck coop in the middle of the night (weasel trying to get in), luckily I wasn't all the way asleep and their quacking woke me right up. I expected a bear, as the grizzlies are being particularly bold about coming in close to the houses right now, and I may or may not have grabbed my rifle and ran outside in the snow in my birthday suit screaming at it to get away from my coop 😂 Thankfully all the ducks are ok, but I spent an hour or so in the middle of the night reinforcing some points in the coop where a weasel could get in there. Then I laid awake with my window open listening in case it came back. Off to bed, hopefully I can get a full night's sleep!
  8. Day 62 of 80 day obsession, only 3 weeks to go!
  9. Day 61 of 80 day obsession: cardio core. My abs aren't nearly as sore as they were last week, thank goodness! @wintermom I'm not sure what I'm doing next. I was hoping to do 30 day Breakaway, which is a running and weightlifting program that's coming out next week, but our weather is getting wintery, so I'm not sure how well that'll work. I forgot to take measurements at the beginning of 80 day obsession this time, so I'm just going by weight and the fit of my clothes.
  10. Day 60 of 80 day obsession: total body core
  11. Day 59 of 80 day obsession, leg day. Still working through using/freezing/storing all the rest of the veggies we picked from the garden before it froze. I think supper tonight will be a sheet pan of Italian sausages and lots of chopped veggies, and I'll fry some eggs to throw on top. My ducks are laying so well right now that I have to remember to serve eggs ALL THE TIME 😂
  12. Saturday was my rest day from my beachbody workout, but I did fit in a run with the dogs between baking rolls and pies and going to an early Canadian Thanksgiving dinner at the neighbor's. Yesterday we moved some cows and then I spent the rest of the day picking more produce from the garden, moving pumpkins into storage, and generally prepping for a freeze last night that didn't end up happening. 😂 It will almost definitely freeze at some point this week though, so it was good to get it all done, and was certainly enough work to qualify as exercise! Today we moved more cows (and riding a quad through the forest, over rocks and downed trees, is definitely a shoulder and arm workout), and I just finished day 57 of 80 day obsession. I might run with the dogs later as well.
  13. My legs actually recovered quite quickly and feel great. My abs, on the other hand, are still very sore this morning after two days in a row with a core focus. ETA: So I did day 56 of 80 day obsession, booty day. Of course when you're working the booty, you're also working your legs. So now I'm back to my legs being so exhausted that I've forgotten about my sore abs 😂 I'll take a walk with the dogs later, probably no running for me today
  14. As if that wasn't enough cardio, I took the dogs for a good run this evening. My legs are cursing me right now 😂
  15. Day 55 of 80 Day Obsession: cardio core
  16. Day 54 of 80 day obsession: total body core. Walk/run with the dogs later. As for kitchen appliances, I have a KitchenAid stand mixer, a dehydrator, a couple of crockpots, a big electric roaster, bread machine, waffle-maker, an instant pot that I use pretty much exclusively for yogurt, and the typical toaster, microwave, and my most treasured appliance...the coffeemaker 😂
  17. Day 53 of 80 day obsession: leg day. Will walk with the dogs as well
  18. Day 52 of 80 day obsession: cardio flow
  19. @wintermom, it's the butt 😉
  20. Day 51 of 80 day obsession. My arms and booty feel dead now!
  21. My milk cows have been: Suzy Rosy Lily Josey Maggie Millie Lizzie Dixie Dolly
  22. Day 49 of 80 day obsession: AAA (arms, abs, and a##). Also a one mile run with one of the dogs. It's finally cool enough that the mosquitoes are gone, so that makes running a lot more pleasant!
  23. Was busy with cows today and didn't end up with enough time to do an hour-long workout, so I went for a run with the dogs while the soup for supper simmered on the stove. Only 1.6 miles, but I ran 1.4 miles without stopping, so not too bad. Plus I got plenty of walking in today with the cows 🙂
  24. Day 48 of 80 day obsession: leg day. It really burns out my leg muscles but is one of my favorite workouts
