  1. Day 41/80: total body core. Having some spicy pumpkin chili for lunch (recipe from CleanFoodCrush) and then I'll take the dogs on a nice long walk. @Ali in OR thanks for the reminder, I've been meaning to pick back up with the Yoga with Adriene @IvyInFlorida glad you're less sore and achy. Have fun with that sweet baby! @Soror I hope all the tummy discomfort goes away, glad your appetite is better @wintermom sounds like you guys had a lot of fun!
  2. Day 40/80: cardio core. Halfway through!
  3. Cardio flow yesterday (day 38/80) and booty work today (Day 39/80). Hard to believe I'm almost halfway through 80 day obsession again. I need to get the equipment ordered for 9 week control freak, so I have it on hand when I'm ready to start. I also took a nice long walk with the dogs even though it's snowing. It was pretty nice, except the fresh snow has hidden the icy patches so I had a few near misses of falling on my behind.
  4. I took a look at the syllabus for the FundaFunda Biology class and it looks like you can request to do it as an honors class. What I don't see is a whole lot of info on the types of labs. @SusanC do you remember what kind of labs your kids did in the class? @Alte Veste Academy what about the format doesn't work for you?
  5. Has anyone's child taken or is currently taking Honors Biology at Homeschool Connections? I'd love to hear what they think of it, what the workload is like, etc.
  6. Workout 37/80 done, I think I'll have a small snack and take the dogs for a walk. Happy New Years everyone!
  7. Day 36/80: leg day, one of my favorites!
  8. We found him dead, unfortunately. Not sure what happened, but he was one of the older bulls. We had 13, sold 2 this fall that were becoming real jerks, and now we lost this one, so we have 10. We'll buy more in the spring. Only did a mile of snowshoeing, so I also took the dogs for a long walk this evening.
  9. Day 35/80: total body core. One of our bulls is missing, so after lunch my hubby and I are going to take our snowshoes to go try to find him. Ought to be a heck of a good workout. Hopefully he is just off hiding and not injured or worse.
  10. Day 34/80: cardio core @Soror I hope you get some useful info from the ultrasound
  11. Well I tried, but it was actually too warm so the snow was really soft. It's supposed to be rather warm this week, but I'm sure our colder temperatures will be back soon enough!
  12. Day 33/80: booty. Yesterday was my rest day, but I did take a nice walk with the dogs. I'm thinking about getting out my cross-country skis later and starting a trail :)
  13. Yesterday I went ahead and worked out after we opened presents (everyone had retreated to their rooms to read new books they got), day 31/80. This morning was cardio flow, day 32/80.
  14. They looked up the cost of parts that probably needed replaced and decided it was better just to buy a new oven. The boss had to go to Calgary anyway so he was able to pick one up for us. Merry Christmas to me! Hope you get some answers after the ultrasound and labs.
  15. Day 30/80: leg day. Was interrupted a few times because the guys were installing my new oven. That was definitely worth it, because now I'm cooking goodies for tonight :) I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!
  16. Got a workout in late last night...I was dealing with a broken oven and then our internet was down all afternoon due to the heavy snow. Got a workout in this morning before my neighbor came over for brunch (today's her birthday). I had originally planned to make a quiche, but with the oven out of commission I made a crockpot breakfast casserole in my big crockpot and an apple breakfast cobbler in my small crockpot. Thankfully they turned out well and we had some fun visiting. We also indulged in mimosas :) The repairman can't come look at the oven until January 14, so the guys are trying to figure out if they can order the part that they think is the problem and replace it themselves. Even if they can, it'll take a bit to get the part in. Not a great week for the oven to die :( Luckily I had baked most of our Christmas cookies on Saturday, so we won't be cookie-less ;) On a brighter note, we've gotten a ton of snow over the last couple of days, so we should finally be able to start sledding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing!
  17. @calbear, thanks, I'll check that out. @Alte Veste Academy, yes exactly! @SusanC the FundaFunda class is one I had looked at, but hadn't strongly considered since it wasn't honors. I'll double check though
  18. Day 26/80, cardio flow. Phase 1 done!
  19. I was looking at Schole Academy's Biology class the other day and it meets 3 times a week. I didn't look at their other science classes
  20. Got my workout in (Day 24/80) despite some soreness in my lower back. I'm going to have a smoothie, do some geography with the kids, and then take the dogs on a nice long walk.
  21. @fourisenough my son is turning 14 in January, and will be a freshman for Honors bio. Biology is his passion so he's done a lot of it over the years, and he'll have a fair amount of Physics and Chem under his belt as well. He's been taking High School French online so he's used to online high school classes. Thanks for the feedback, it is helpful! DS really appreciates a well-organized class, and honestly he kind of enjoys the kind of competitiveness you mentioned :) I'll let you know if I have any specific questions.
  22. Thinking ahead to next year, trying to plan for Honors Bio for my DS. The 2 classes I'm really considering right now are Blue Tent and Homeschool Connections. Anyone have reviews for either? Blue Tent is pricey, but it seems solid and we already own the textbook used for that one. My son took a Zoology class on Homeschool Connections last year with the same teacher that teaches their Honors Bio class, and he likes her. The class is also cheaper than Blue Tent's, but uses an old Bio book from 1989. We also looked at Schole Academy, since they're using the new Novare Biology book, and my son LOVES the Novare books he's used so far. Their class isn't honors though, and they meet three times a week which is a deal-breaker for DS.
