    Other than making index cards with vocab, do your kids take notes as they read their science text? How do I teach them to do this? ( sounds like a no brainer but I am clueless). Do they use an outline format? Any other helpful advice would be appreciated!

    This is what I was thinking of. I have used this with my older kids, but I kind of wanted something that explained things more. I might just use this though as we have had success with it before.

    What have you used for reading instruction? I tried OPG and my DD didn't like it. I have 100 EZ lessons, but I wanted something more like SWR but not so teacher instensive. Any suggestions?

    I have the micro chem kit and I purchased the kit to go with apologia chemistry and then added the supplies ( from home training tools) to complete what we would need for BJU chemistry. So, I have a ton of chemistry supplies LOL. I am thinking of using Spectrum rather than BJU, would I need to purchase the science kit from Spectrum or would I have enough with what I already have? Thanks!

    How many lessons are in this? Did you stretch it to make a year or add in something else? Edited to add: I am looking at level one to use with my 3rd and 5th graders.

    I see they have a basic math, then pre-alg on up. Would you use basic in 7th, pre-alg in 8th? Then what for the remaining 9-12? Thanks!

    I would replace the refined carbs with unrefined ones. Maybe oatmeal for breakfast, some brown rice and veggies for lunch and then dinner as usual.
