  1. I, too, love my Excalibur. I did some research on them and other brands before buying and I believe you can't go wrong with the Excalibur. Mine came with two of the fruit leather sheets and I went ahead and bought 5 extra. We love using it for this and make lots of homemade "fruit roll ups".
  2. We just finished up Bigger this year and we are moving onto Preparing. HOD has been the perfect fit for my 8 and 10 year old to do together.... What a blessing it has been and I pray that I will be able to continue using it.
  3. What type of squash are they? Summer squash, like zucchini and yellow crook neck? If they are those, you can use them for grilling, especially....or the zucchini (green ones) you can shredd up and use for quick bread. You can also shredd it and put it in the freezer for later use. Kale can be washed up and added to smoothies, without changing the taste of it (for future use!!) Beans.....doesn't matter if they green or yellow. Snip the ends off of them and boil them up for eating. Just cut them up in bite size pieces or leave them whole...boil them in salted water, add butter and salt when done....delish! Does this help a little....there are many, many more things to do with what you have....but this would be the basic things, if you haven't done anything with fresh produce from a garden before.
  4. I make up my batch of pizza dough in my Bosch and make a x4 recipe. We use one pizza crust on the same night I make it and then I divide out the rest of it in three equal pieces. I place each of those in a quart size freezer bag and label them. When we are wanting pizza, I just take a bag out of the freezer and add the toppings. Its an easy, quick meal. The recipe I use makes a large jelly roll size pan, so it is enough for a complete meal and sometimes with leftovers.
  5. Can you tell me how this works what you like/dislike about it? I am considering this, but would like more comments on it before I sign up. Thanks....
  6. My 8 and 10 year old love to draw everything out, whether it is for science stuff, history, or vocabulary skills. I want to find something that would fit for them to use for Art or Drawing instruction. I was thinking some type of DVD type lessons. Anyone have any favorites and why?
  7. I have both the food processor and the slicer/shredder. The slicer shredder has the blade at the top and can do a very large amount. The bowl is considerably larger and fits on the same side as the mixer part. The food processor has blades for the top, but also has the regular blade on the bottom. It is a smaller bowl and fits on the side where the blender attaches. I like both of them for different reasons. But...if I had to chose only one, I would pick the slicer/shredder.
  8. I have a Bosch and have the mixing bowl, blender, and food chopper. I was thinking of adding the food processor attachment to it. Question: Should I go ahead and get the food processor attachment for the Bosch or get a different food processor altogether? If so, what brand/model would you recommend? Thanks...
  9. Thank you...yes, that helps tremendously!
  10. Does anyone have this smoker? Mine is a red model. I don't have a book to go with it, so I'm not sure how to use this. Any suggestions or help?
  11. I would make up a quick Alfredo sauce and serve that over the left over noodles.
  12. I would like to order seeds for my garden, in bulk, if I could. I would like to have a place to order them from that has good prices and good germination. Do you have any suggestions?
  13. I have been trying to perfect making a batch of popcorn and need help. I used to have a gas stove and it made a perfect, panfull of popcorn everytime. We have moved and I now have an electric stove. I have been using the same pot, olive oil, and regular popcorn...but not good results. Do you have any tips or can you recommend a good popcorn popper? Thanks
  14. Yes, this is what I am wondering, too. I don't mind paying something for shipping, but something reasonable. I don't have anything local for buying these items. There is a small natural store that carries some, but the prices are very inflated. Maybe someone will have some recommendations...please!!
  15. Does anyone have a source for online ordering of essential oils, soap making supplies, etc? I would like to only order from one supplier and wondering if anyone knows and has ordered from one like that? It would be great if they would take Paypal, also. Thanks.
  16. Those of you that have Cuisanart Food Processor...can you give the model numbers. There are so many listed on Amazon. Thanks.
  17. Thanks, so much. I appreciate the wisdom and information here. I was also looking at one of the music ones, I can't remember the exact title. So, if anyone has any experience with the music ones, please chime in also.
  18. Susan, Thanks. We were planning on doing Apologia Chemistry, but I didn't know how TTC Dvd's would play a role there. Supplement or stand alone? How did you schedule them in or use them that way? Thanks for any more info. you can add....
  19. Has anyone watched/used the Chemistry or any of the Language Arts DVD's? I would like your honest opinions on them....and your recommendations, if any. Thanks.
  20. Thank you, I will. It never even dawned on me to check over there!
  21. Have you used The Teaching Company's course: Chemistry? Just wondering on opinions of these...since I just received the sale flyer. Please share...
  22. I got the attachment to mill grains and I love mine. I actually never use it for juicing. It is great for frozen treats though, too.
  23. I agree. I would go ahead with SWI B, also. Join the Yahoo group: IEW Families. You can get your questions answered there, also. They are very helpful. You can download the lessons from A to use along with where you are in watching the B group.
