  1. Where can you order it from? It's not on Amazon and I couldn't find a copy on Ebay.... It looks fantastic, but so far, I've only found shipping to Australia and New Zealand.
  2. So, I've been thinking about this off and on since you posted it. I think I have an answer, and I think I'll implement this myself as well. Why not have a class dedicated to fancy? A class that covers unicorns, fairies, dryads, gnomes and dwarves? My husband is Scottish and his family has so many stories of the way things 'were' in Scotland. My grandmother is half Dutch and she has wonderful stories her dad used to tell her. The more I think about it, the more I see the possible applications of such a class. Reading, writing, drawing, story telling and plenty more, I'm sure. It would bring the wonder back into it all. It could lead to classes on the crystal skulls, pirates and mermaids, and it would actually be able to fit in with TSOTW. Anyway, so there's my two cents. I think they're worth more than two cents, but hey inflation/recession/whatever ;)
  3. Sorry so late, but Happy New Year anyway ;)

  4. I have those dreams. I'm never "there" for the leaving of the dc, but I remember doing it, kwim? It's horrible, I hate those dreams. DH is even worse than me though. I go and check on the kids, as soon as I'm awake. He goes and wakes them up.
  5. My older two do that from time to time. I just don't respond to it at all. If they want to play house or babies, that's one thing, behaving like babies when it is not play time is a whole 'nother ball game. I just tell them, there's a time and place for everything and (unless it's play time) this is niether the time, nor the place. Then I tell them to use their big kid words and ignore them till they do.
  6. Compare Tessla to Edison. Tessla was BRILLIANT, so was Edison. They were the complete opposite of eachother.
  7. We have a tiny little house. The tree is taking up a good chunk of our living space.
  8. But, if she felt her own guilt in it (we're both guilty, but no one knows I am), then she may be extending the olive branch in hopes he would do the same for her. I still say her description of him would have to be close to the truth, he killed her child and regardless of any complicity on her side (no one knows of it, so it might as well not exist), she does not owe him any favors.
  9. That could be very true. While the officer in charge showed us many ways to get high, the ultimate result he gave us was death or insanity. Once you see so many people use drugs and remain living and sane, you question everything else he taught you. I should've included regular sex ed. They take another extreme approach (sex is normal, natural and healthy implying lack of sex is the opposite).
  10. I'm not saying he should not face charges at all, just that I don't believe he deserves the level of charges. I agree that even the smallest effert could've changed this situation drastically and that makes it that much more tragic. I couldn't imagine the level of guilt you'd face, having done everything you could after the initial dumb decision of letting the kids walk away. The guilt, knowing that so many things, one after the other, lead to this... it would kill me, I can't imagine the pain they're all going through right now.
  11. I'm sorry, I'm getting sleepy and I can't see where the first statement is coming from... I agree that the action of Adam & Eve affected the rest of us. Again, I just couldn't imagine doing that at that stage.
  12. That is an EXCELLENT idea. We could even get one already decorated.
  13. I was wrong then. I just can't imagine someone being able to bare their soul without a concrete commitment. We lived together, that was mentioned earlier, for six months before our wedding, but I would have to say that while I trusted him beyond all others, there were things I could not have shared with him before we had built that segment of our relationship on marraige.
  14. Once Adam had eaten from the tree of knowledge, he knew good from evil, so I guess at some point, during the act, he became aware of his sinfulness. My understanding is that they were no longer pure and could not stay in the garden because of that. They were removed from God's presence by that act. The birth pains and everything went along with it. God did forgive them, but they had to face the consequences of their actions regardless. If you sin, your path in life is altered. Glory and good works that were once set aside for you, are no longer attainable by you because of that sin. God will forgive you, but you cannot backtrack to that path.
  15. I would totally smeet you in public, lol.

And we probably would laugh, too much :)

  16. I was kidding about the fearing for you, ergo the ;) I don't know why you would be sad for me. I could not imagine bareing (bearing?) my soul to someone without knowing (KNOWING) that they would always be there. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. But then, I've always been that way.

  18. I learned about it in art class. The right brain is more artistic, less analytical. The left brain is more mathmatical. I'll look for resources and be back to post away ;) resource 1: http://www.funderstanding.com/content/right-brain-vs-left-brain Right Brain vs. Left Brain Definition This theory of the structure and functions of the mind suggests that the two different sides of the brain control two different “modes” of thinking. It also suggests that each of us prefers one mode over the other. Discussion Experimentation has shown that the two different sides, or hemispheres, of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking. The following table illustrates the differences between left-brain and right-brain thinking: Most individuals have a distinct preference for one of these styles of thinking. Some, however, are more whole-brained and equally adept at both modes. In general, schools tend to favor left-brain modes of thinking, while downplaying the right-brain ones. Left-brain scholastic subjects focus on logical thinking, analysis, and accuracy. Right-brained subjects, on the other hand, focus on aesthetics, feeling, and creativity. How Right-Brain vs. Left-Brain Thinking Impacts Learning Curriculum–In order to be more “whole-brained” in their orientation, schools need to give equal weight to the arts, creativity, and the skills of imagination and synthesis. Instruction–To foster a more whole-brained scholastic experience, teachers should use instruction techniques that connect with both sides of the brain. They can increase their classroom’s right-brain learning activities by incorporating more patterning, metaphors, analogies, role playing, visuals, and movement into their reading, calculation, and analytical activities. Assessment–For a more accurate whole-brained evaluation of student learning, educators must develop new forms of assessment that honor right-brained talents and skills. 19. Arg, I can't find the one I wanted to quote, but something just sort of occurred to me. The article said the roads were impassable, covered in snow drifts. Imagine, Mom wants kids for Christmas, maybe it's even in the custody agreement. Dad does not want to drive in that weather. Finally concedes with the condition that Mom meets him halfway (knowing the roads were impassable). Mom says she doesn't have a car, Dad says figure it out yourself. Sounds perfectly plausable, and like something niether party would want to openly say. Mom, because some guilt would be shoveled in her lap; Dad, because it was obvious Mom could not get there. What do ya think? Sorry, every once in awhile I have a wee lightening storm in the brain. :tongue_smilie:
