  1. I just finished reading A Hope Undaunted by Julie Lessman. It is a christian romance set in the late 20's and will be reviewing it this week on my blog. I started Wicked Games last night by Lisa Jackson and Nancy Bush. Trying to decide if I'm going to join Callapidder Day's Fall Reading Challenge. Fall starts on Wednesday. Summer just flew by too fast.

Her villains are chilling and her settings are dark which makes for a spooky good book. I just love books that keep you up reading long past your bedtime. What is your most spookiest, chilling, goose bumpiest read? What are you reading this week? I just realized Fall starts on Wednesday. Any special books that just say "Fall" to you.
  3. Right now I'm reading "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver. Am part of the TLC book tour and will be reviewing it on Friday on My Two Blessings.

There will be a huge number of giveaways and contests hosted by bloggers, authors and publishers. I will be hosting a couple giveaways on My Two Blessings. On Monday, the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris. Yes, I am giving away books #1-9 as a package deal. I haven't read # 10 yet, so it's not included. :) Also on Wednesday, a mystery / suspense bundle of 6 books. So be sure to drop by not only my blog, but the BBAW website as well. The consensus from last week's mini challenge is I should read Justice Hall by Laurie R King. Downloaded it on my nook already, so when I read it, will let you know all about it. Last but not least, welcome to Chikngirl aka emily who has decided to join in. What are you reading this week?
  5. Once I hit 40, my eyes started getting bad and had hard time reading. Everything blurry. Reading glasses did the trick. Available everywhere - target, walmart. Don't need a prescription for reading glasses. Yes, have your eyes checked so you know. But it's pretty much a fact, everyone's eyes start going after 40.
  6. I am 3/4's of the way done with Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I stopped midway to read Cherry Adair's paranormal romance "Black Magic." She is one of my favorite authors. Almost forgot - I'm having a giveaway of Diana Gabaldon's Echo in the Bone. It was just released in paperback so put your name in the hat if your interested.

This week on the 52 books blog - J is for Justice and I have a mini challenge for you. The letter of the week is J. I did a random search on Amazon and came up with five books with Justice in the title. Your job is to decide which book I should read. State your pick either here in the thread or leave a comment on the blog. If you want to play along, pick a word that starts with J, pick out some books, let us know what they are and we'll pick one we think you should read. What are you reading this week?
  8. I actually have something to report this week even if it is just our plan for the 5th grade. It took me a while to whittle things down. I have a tendency to overbuy, overplan and get overwhelmed. Trying to keep it simple this year. Link to 5th Grade Plans
  9. Trying to decide what going to read next. So many books on my nightstand. Of course, I just picked up Running Scared by Lisa Jackson on thursday. I want to read it now, versus later.

What type of thriller do you prefer to read: psychological, medical, political, crime, supernatural, or mystery. Watcha reading this week?
  11. Are you in my brother's barony? My brother is the Baron of Erud Sul: Baron Christopher Fitzarthur and Baroness Miana ni Chonnagain. If you are, call them and see what they think. Knowing Chris, he'd tell you to stay home. Knowing Mo, she say to stay and they'll help you with the birth. LOL! Would be an educational experience for all.
  12. I'm currently reading The Darkest Kiss by Keri Arthur, book # 6 in the Riley Jensen Guardian series. It's a paranormal romance. I'm reading it on my nook. I've discovered I'm using it so much more than originally thought I would. Glad to say I'm getting my monies worth.

Mr. Linky is all set up on the 52 books blog and ready for you to link to your reviews. 52 Books blog - History graphically. Not violently graphical but comic book graphical. I discovered some history and science graphic novels recently. Fascinating and hopefully will lead James to wanting to find out more. I was never a big fan of comic books growing up, but son loves them- especially the Bionicles, so we'll see where this leads. Do your kids like graphic novels? What are you reading this week?
  14. Started "the Night Before" by Lisa Jackson. Not sure I'm going to finish it. Too many characters being introduced and I'm not liking to many of them. I'll give it a couple more chapters.

Mr. Linky is all set up on the 52 books blog and ready for you to link to your reviews. 52 books blog: I finally read Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Great book and once I finished it, wanted to turn around and read it again. Very few authors make me feel that way. The 7th book in the series An Echo in the Bone has just been released in paperback. TLC Book tours is hosting a blog tour of the series. Find out more on the blog. What are you reading this week?
  16. Happy Happy Birthday. Welcome to the 50's club.
  17. No filing or workboxes for me. Too much work! And no I haven't read the huge thread. I outline each subject for the year, put lists in notebook and then each week write up a to do list for the week. KISS method - Keep it simple sherlock. (substituted sherlock for stupid, like it better) :)
  18. I read M.J. Rose's The Reincarnationist, Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife and Karen Rose's Silent Scream this past week. When started Time Traveler wasn't sure I was going to like it since in first person pov. It sucked me in. Interesting story. Now I want to see the movie.
