  1. I said no to masking outside, but this is what I do. I mask as soon as I get out of the car when walking in a building. I usually take it off as soon as I get out when walking to my car. I would leave it on if there were a lot of people around. I live in a small town so it is easy to take a walk and not mask. I cross the street if I would be too close to someone. I also carry a mask just in case I need it. Kelly
  2. The overhead line was knocked down during a storm this past summer. When they came back to hook us up they just connected a cable that ran through the yard since they were coming back to bury it. Well, I thought they would bury that one, but they ended up burying a new one. Unfortunately, they didn't hook the buried one to the house. So, they could take the line draped on the yard also or it could be thrown in a bushy corner of the back yard. Kelly
  3. So, it took me 5 days to get back on the forums 😂 Story of my life...
  4. I have been trying to get our cable/internet company to come out to finish a job, but I cannot make them understand. I can post pictures if it helps. In August they buried our cable/internet line. Previously, it was coming from the power pole across the yard and into the house. Technically, it is still coming from the line from the power pole because they never actually hooked the buried line to the line that comes into the house. How can I word that differently than above because they aren't getting it? Kelly
  5. I can't stand that song. I am another person who yells "Yes, she knew!" Christmas Shoes is the all time worst! Kelly
  6. Why would they lie about how they got it? Unless they were trying to hide a side job from someone?
  7. We were in quarantine from Oct 31 - Nov 13 because my son had Covid. I got sick on Nov 14th. My test just came back negative. What did I have and where did I get it? My doctor should be calling soon ETA: This test took 5 days to come back and I was already 2 days in to my isolation, so a new test won't help much. Kelly
  8. What form does your caffeine usually take? I am a coffee addict. What I have done in the past is swap it out for tea (the extra caffeine teas) which still have some but less caffeine than coffee. I also drink hot chocolate if I need the hot and creamy texture of coffee. Unfortunately, I work in a coffee shoo so it is so hard to not drink coffee. Kelly
  9. I'm in IA. We have free testing through Test Iowa. This summer it was super quick to get through, some sites had same day testing while most were next day. Results were back in 24-48 hours. Now, with cases at 2000-6000/day it is hard to get in I hear. I have heard it can take up to a week. My dh's boss had one yesterday with a 2 hour wait. It might depend on which site you are going to. I got my test at the doctor's office. No wait, not sure if it will be free or not. I assume insurance will cover some of it. There is a private business doing testing that is $80 for results in 24-72 hours and $110 for 1 hour results. Red state, red town, blue county Kelly
  10. My eyes have been sore also. A headache and sore eyes were my first symptoms. Kelly
  11. I know, we just think mild to her might mean a little more serious to us. She's tough for sure!
  12. My mil and fill have covid. My mil has Lupus and my fill has heart problems. She says they are doing well with mild symptoms. This is the same woman who broke her knee, walked around on it for a few days before deciding it really hurt, and drove herself to the doctor. We aren't sure how mild it really is. Kelly
  13. And, now my dd15 has a headache and isn't feeling well. Maybe we will all get it and it will leave us alone for a couple months. Kelly
  14. Huh, I didn't know that. We were just told 2 weeks and the dates the kids could go back to school.
  15. Just had my Covid test. So far, I have had fever, muscle aches, sore throat, and a massive head ache. I was taking 3 Advil Migraine at a time and could only get the headache to a level I could eat and sleep. My fever is down although must have been higher in the night because I woke up all sweaty. I go from chills to sweat as my temperature fluctuates. I am thinking the 2 week quarantine is a joke because I got it at the end of quarantine when my son had it. Our governor is announcing new Covid mitigation steps. If all she says is that Iowans need to take more personal responsibility I am going to scream. Kelly
  16. That's interesting. We were told to do our 2 weeks from when he had symptoms. I was running numbers and I can see how it could spread that close to the end of our quarantine. I was out for a day when I got sick. This doesn't seem like a sinus infection anymore. I will call the doctor tomorrow. It could be the flu. But, that wouldn't come on that quickly after getting out of quarantine. Kelly
  17. Our governor shut down a few sites and now the state run sites are back logged. We went from having 200 positives a day, to 800, and now between 4-5,000 a day and she has testing sites shut down. With that many it won't be long before everyone in this state has had it. Kelly
  18. He started having symptoms on Oct 30th.
  19. I plan on calling my doctor tomorrow. I can get a test fairly quickly through them. My husband wants me to use Doctor on Demand today. They can't give me a Covid test, but could prescribe antibiotics if they think it is a sinus infection. Was it a perfect isolation? Probably not. He stayed in a room in the basement with an attached bath. We would take food down and put it on a chair in front of the door. There were times that the door was open. The latch isn't perfect. I am hoping sinus, but I'm not particularly congested. Kelly
  20. My son had Covid earlier this month. His isolation ended on Nov 9th. The rest of us got out on Nov 13. That night I was so exhausted I went to bed at 6pm. Friday into Saturday I started getting a sore throat and my headache was worse. By last evening I had a fever, sore throat, and a massive headache. I finally got more Advil this morning. Fever is down but not normal, sore throat feels better, but this headache is going to do me in. My son's case was mild and I don't feel on the brink of death. I am hoping for a sinus infection. Would I get Covid that far from his original symptoms? Kelly
  21. Hmmmm, the same spot would work, but I would like to extend the driveway. We could use the space where the current light is. Good thoughts!
  22. This might be a dumb question. During the Derecho this summer our yard post light snapped at the base. I know an electrician would install a new one, but what about the fact that the light was secured in concrete? Who fixes that part? Will the electrician dig it out and pour new concrete? I don't want to call one out and find out we needed that done ahead of time. Kelly
  23. This is what frustrates me the most. When my ds was sent home on Thursday they said to see what the doctor said to do. They were not apparently requiring a test. The doctor wasn't going to test, but we insisted. I have never wanted anyone to get sick because of us. I feel like the school should require a test. How many people should have been tested, but weren't because the doctor didn't think they had it?
  24. Yes, everyone else is fine so far. We do have a room in the basement with a bed and a bathroom attached. He has been isolated since Thursday. Kelly
