i looked at Sonlight as was sooooo confused just considering What i would order!

what about Memoria Press? It seems very inclusive especially for my 3rd grader. the price blows my mind but, i have time to save. Then i was thinking of doing My fathers world with the 1st grader and letting him sit in with my 3rd grader for the astrology/mythology (science/history) csause i know they will intrest them both. i also like that latin is taught,......

so is decided I am homeschooling next year!! right now I my 2 are in ps grades k and 2 I am thinking a box curriculum is what will be best for my first go at this. my will he 3rd grader is excellent reader and quick with math my boy will be in 1st, he is learning to read and picks up quickly I do want t include Christian views. what box curriculum do you suggest for 3 and 1? are there any subjects that can be taught together?

So my 7 year old is in PS 2nd grade. she is reading at a 3rd grade level, can do math very well. her teacher last year was AAMZING. this year her teacher sucks. ive tried to be patient half a year but she brings no homework home and cant tell me anythign she is learning. i need to afterschool her, she is too bright to let it go.... so im ready to hit B&N and buy some books ect. guide me, i wanna do grammar, math, history, ect..... my 5 year old is a typical boy on Kindy. yet he has a thing with numbers. he can read simple Bob book in the 2nd collevtion. he writes neatly and will write down the words he doesnt know and write them 3 times each. im working with him on reading and sounding out. i need some more to do with him because again, no homework.... im to the point of pulling DD out of school for the year but no idea where to begin

gosh its been a while since i have needed advice. But i am now stuck and not sure what to do. DD1 is now 7. She is reading on a DRA of 40 and entering 2nd grade. She had an amazing PS teacher for 1st grade but if i cant get her switched to another 2nd grade class I will be pulling her out to HS her. That being said, I need some ideas for summer to prep her into the HS ways....understand I will be the teacher ect. So for a reading list.....throw some books at me that are DRA40. math - ? she is great with math facts, maybe we should just keep memorizing though addition and subtraction? id like to do some geography with her....possibly learning where the states are on the map? maybe we can fly through AAS1 and AAS2? im a a loss.... DS is going into K. He knows letters, sounds, numbers and can write. Im thinking i will do 100 ez lessons with him to get him at least begingin reading for K? and DDlittle is 1:) the fun times with puzzles and games

SO my boy, just turned 4. He knew letters and sounds since 2. Can play downlaod video games off the xbox, beat them in a day, he is a computer wiz. He wouldnt sit to learn a thing. Hates to color. I left him alone. He asked to do some homework so i took out primerB for ETC. So i just came across 1A us editions in my box o books. Maybe i can use this for my first grader, but i dont have the teachers guide. do i need it?

okay maybe horizons isnt too bad. i looked it over again. i guess the number line to add is just different, she never used that in school and well in school that have only done addition fact to 5.

i dont know, i just opened it and thought for some reason it looked hard! i remeber we go out of horizons cause for some reason it wasnt working...i forget! it was before she started k lst sept..... i should NEVER have slacked off this year :(

so again. DD went to ps for K. We are done with Horizons K book 1, but 2 is alot of harder things, unless i just need to let her learn it.lol. Then we have Rodd and Staff 1 and book one, although we were doing it, is boring. i think we need something new....

i know satori has always been a writer. what helped her the most with spelling?? We are gonna start up AAS 1 again after a year in PS. But my DD LOVE LOVE LOVE to write in her journal. its jsut she rushes and spells phonetically, which is great, but at the same time i dont know. words she can read like "could" she jst writes cud. do you think AAS and if i get some money and buy FLL it will help? i encourage her to write all the time cause it has become a passion, little stories and all...i just would love to develop it better for her. She has no prob with me correcting it either, telling her what words are spelled wrong ect, but im afraid that will kill her confidence too...

i think what pissed me off the most is that she gave up, after a month of marriage. and it was all her being upset that he plays video games, doesnt clean up, ect... i mean i am 28 and a very traditional house wife, and my husband plays video games too! you dont see me walking away

i dont have either of those :) just the fact, when i need it, its not there

A wonderful momma from the hive sent me the best book i EVER had. It was The Power of a Praying Wife. It was life changing, one i swore i would keep forever and re-read it on and on. Then a friend was getting married, i got to know his wife a bit. She was always complaining and going on and on about her husand. nonsence stuff.... So i leant her the book. I told her it was amazing, and to please return it when she was done reading it.... They got married...... They got divorced a month later.... My book was never returned :) I feel for some reason, i need it most. With a new baby in the house, fustrations are high, and well, its something i always use to turn to. And now its not here, just makes me sad

i think she us above level 10. cause, henry and mudge is too easy for her, yet the cousins series is a tad challenging...
