  1. Hi - I would like to use some air dry clay for art projects this year. What brands do you recommend? I need something easy to use. We have some from Aamco I think and it is crumbly and hard for my eight year old to use. We had a little bit in an Egypt kit that was awesome, but I don't know the brand. It was almost as soft as playdough, but it dried very hard. My daughter loved it. Any recommendations? Thank you, Suzanne
  2. We love Dick Blick too. They have a great selection, really good prices, and great customer service. Suzanne
  3. I don't think it will be too advanced either. We did Zoology 3 in first grade and Zoology 1 in second grade. We didn't have any problems whatsoever. We plan to do Zoology 2 and maybe astronomy this year. My daughter loves the books. She is such a science kid that we do an Apologia book and another type of science each year. Suzanne
  4. We just finished the Primary Early American set. We have also used the Primary Character through Literature. We really enjoyed both of them. We have History of Horses and the Geography set, but we haven't used them. They both look really good. I really love the books that they use. Suzanne
  5. You can order workbooks from weekly reader that are pretty good. We used one of those last year. This year, we ordered a workbook from School Aid - Rod and Staff sells it. It is simple, but it looks pretty good. Suzanne
  6. I used SOTW vols. 1 and 2 with Cores 1 and 2, and am planning to keep going with SOTW vol. 3 with Core 3 and vol. 4 with Core 4. The Sonlight cores are focused on the New World for sure, but it's important to keep up with what's happening elsewhere in the world, and I want to have the continuity. I am doing the same thing. We enjoy both so much. Suzanne
  7. I would love information on this too. It sounds like something my eight year old would enjoy. Suzanne
  8. My daughter loves horses too. We have the BF History of Horses and plan to use it this year. It looks really good, but I haven't looked at it very closely yet. Suzanne
  9. I love most dogs, but the breed that has my heart is poodles. I have had poodles for most of my life. I have owned all 3 sizes. Standards are my favorite. There intelligence and love for you is amazing. Suzanne
  10. I often condensed both of them. Some of the lessons a pretty short. Good luck! Suzanne
  11. I did WWE 2 and Writing Tales 1 with my second grader. We didn't find it to be too much at all. If I had to pick only one, I think I would go with Writing Tales. We really enjoyed both and she learned a lot from both. Suzanne
  12. Wow! You have all given me some wonderful suggestions. I'm sure we will have a lot of fun and learn a lot. My 8 year old was adopted from Kazakhstan and we have a terrible time finding resources about her birth country. She loves the books I have found and she is excited to learn about China. Thank you all so much! Suzanne
  13. Thank you all so much! I hope I'll have time tomorrow to sort through all the resources that you posted. I really appreciate it. Suzanne
  14. Thank you so much! When I have time, I'll take a look. Suzanne
  15. Hi - Does anyone have any recommended resources for a study of China? We are adopting a baby from China and expect to travel by the end of the year. I want to read some books and do some activities with my 8 year old daughter before we go. Thank you, Suzanne
  16. I bought SchoolAid Health from Rod and Staff Books. It is inexpensive and will be easy to use. It comes in different levels. Just another one for you to consider .... This year we used a health workbook that I bought from Weekly Reader. My daughter loved it. I haven't checked for this year, but we may add that as well. Suzanne
  17. My husband started taking them last year and they have really helped him. It is amazing how much better he feels. Suzanne
  18. Thank you. That helps. Suzanne
  19. Thank you all for you input. I think that I will just order 1 kit and try it. One kit is on the resource list for Elemental Science. I am going to use her Physics plans so I'll buy they one used in the curriculum and hold off on the others. I can always order more later if we love it. Thanks again, Suzanne
  20. Hi - Does Biblioplan use the SOTW book in order or skip around? I am considering it for a third grader. Any other information would be appreciated. I have just started looking at this resource. What do you like about it? What do you not like about it? Do you use the extra items or just the TM? Thank you, Suzanne
  21. Thank you for your input. Anyone else? Suzanne
  22. Thank you so much! It definitely helps. Suzanne
