  1. Hi - I would like to make a timeline book with my daughter. I know I saw a site that had pre-dated timeline pages that you can print out for free. However, our computer crashed recently and I lost the link. Does anyone know of a website that would help? Thank you, Suzanne
  2. I've ordered from them 3 or 4 times and I have always been very pleased with their service. I haven't had any problems at all. Suzanne
  3. I bought the set "Medieval World" from notebookingnook.com. I am very pleased with it. I also bought a basic set to use for times when I don't have an appropriate page. Suzanne
  4. The read aloud schedule and other materials are included in the Core IG. Suzanne
  5. Thank you both! I think I'll pass on them for now. Suzanne
  6. Has anyone used the Veritas Press Comprhension Guides? What are they like? Do you think they are worth the money? I am considering some of them for my second grade daughter. Thank You! Suzanne
  7. I would estimate that I printed out about 70 pages per level. We have only completed 3 lessons, but I think you could use the program after your online access is up. You would need to find the art pictures that are discussed and you wouldn't have the audio section. It wouldn't be quite the same program, but I still think it would be usable. Suzanne
  8. We got it and have really enjoyed it. I just went ahead and printed everything. Then, I organized it all into a binder. Suzanne
  9. We are almost finished with Core 1 and we have loved it. I really think you could do either, but I think Core 1 would be better. I wouldn't have wanted to miss any of the books. Suzanne
  10. I allow my 7 year old to choose her own reading for free time. However, I choose some of the books that we read for school and I limit the options she has for school books. She is a great reader who loves to read! I think it is good that she can and does enjoy a wide variety of books. Suzanne
  11. Have you tried having her read high interest books that are a level or two below her reading? I have found both with my own daughter and when I taught school that easy reading builds fluency, excitement and can be motivating. Suzanne
  12. Each level has 18 lessons. You can do a lesson every other week and cover a year. My daughter likes to do some of the lessons more than once so it worked out fine for us. Suzanne
  13. My daughter LOVED doing WW in first grade. She wanted to do it all the time. We finished early because she kept wanting to do more. I think she may be a little disappointed in the second grade book, but we will continue. Suzanne
  14. My daughter watches it while she does the project. We are using level 1 and there are often several steps in a project. She just pauses the DVD and completes it a section at a time. Suzanne
  15. Yes, Atelier is worth it. My daughter loves it and I love that she can do it independently! We do use all three modules in a year. We are almost finished with year 1 and I already bought year 2. We use the lessons more than once so that helps justify the cost. My daughter will often ask to repeat lessons so I let her. Suzanne
  16. I tried the A Beka Bible curriculum and didn't like it at all. We used very little of it. The only thing we did use was the cards. We still like and use them. The cards are very well made and can easily be used with other curriculums. This year, we have used them with Positive Action Bible Curriculum and Hold that Thought notebooking pages. Anyway, since your daughter likes the cards. Maybe, you could use them with something else. We really like them. They are expensive, but very well done and can be used over and over.\ Suzanne
  17. We are doing Horizons 2 now. Yes, horizon does go over all the multiplication tables from 0-10. Suzanne
  18. We loved the Beautiful Feet Character Curriculum. The books were great! I agree you could easily modify it. We also enjoyed Mrs. Piggle Wiggle. In fact, my daughter wants to read more of the books about her. Suzanne
  19. I received this from a home school group. I haven't used it yet so I'm not sure if it works. I hope so I plan to order soon too. It's for free shipping at CBD if you spend $35 or more with this coupon code: 289105CB It's good until May 3rd. Suzanne
  20. I think the main difference is the prints. In the first edition, the prints are separate from the book. In the second edition, they are in the actual books. I have both and prefer the second edition. You don't have to look for the print or keep up with them. Suzanne
  21. We are doing Biology 1 this year and we have really enjoyed it. I am using it with my first grade daugther. I like that it is light enough to add our own things in with it. I have already purchased Chemistry 1 and it looks good too. I think you could easily use it for all of your kids. Suzanne
  22. A Beka Health includes manners. I know they include a section on manners for K, 1, and 2, but I'm not sure about their higher levels. Suzanne
  23. You might try this company. They have a lot of blank books. I have heard they have great books, but I haven't used them. Here is a link to their website: www.millerpadsandpaper.com/
  24. We use the History Scribes and like them. I bought a bundle of all of their sets. My daughter enjoys drawing and they provide a large space for that. I prefer the Notebooking.com ones, but she doesn't have as many. Suzanne
  25. I have almost finished Artistic Pursuit K-3, Book 1 and the first level of Atelier. I like both programs, and we will continue to use both. One of my daughter's passions is art. However, I definitely prefer Atelier and so does she. I like that with Atelier: I just lay out the supplies and she does the lesson along with the DVD. She enjoys the lessons so much that she asks to do them almost daily. Most of the lessons we have done several times so I feel like we really get our money out of it. The projects that she creates are nice too. We are overwhelmed with her art right now. The variety of projects in Atelier are nice too. They use different mediums and some of them include artist appreciation. Artistic pursuit: I like that some of the lessons were related to history. I like discussing the art prints with my daughter. She enjoyed some of the projects, but not all. There is a nice variety of activities, but my daughter got tired of all the clay activities. I have already purchased level 2 of both and both look good. The artistic pursuit book 2 looks better than level 1 to me. I like the focus on the artists and it will give us a chance to learn about a lot of different artists. Level 2 of Atelier looks just as good as level 2 and she can't wait to use it. Anyway, both programs are good. But, I do prefer Atelier. Suzanne
