  1. I would look at a website where you can see plus size models wearing bohemian clothing so you can see what would be the most flattering--and what would not. I noticed a few weeks ago when I was shopping online for swimsuits that many were available both for women's sizes and misses (and pictured with both types of models), but often certain designs only looked good on one or the other. I googled "plus size bohemian clothing" and found this site--I haven't even looked at prices, but you can get an idea of what styles will flatter, what might not, what is too sack-like, etc. http://sunheartclothing.com/
  2. I agree, and I'm bothered by the assumption that kids are the only ones who make noise. There are plenty of adults who cough/sneeze/clear their throat/fidget/whisper/think they're whispering when they're not/etc.
  3. For a co-op class I'm going to teach (lower elementary geography), the students are going to do individual lapbooking-type pages on cardstock that will go into a 3-ring binder. Is that called notebooking or something else?
  4. I voted 4-6. I have 5, which is a lot for me, but I got them at the thrift store. 1 pair of blue jeans, 1 pair of black jeans, 1 pair dark brown corduroy, 1 pair beige corduroy, 1 pair beige casual. Technically I have more, but I've lost weight and replaced the big ones with the 5 I have now. Some of the old will be given away, some will be cut up to use in quilts.
  5. This is why I was thinking one tonight, one tomorrow morning, one tomorrow evening, etc... They'd be about 12 hours apart, whether I started now or tomorrow morning (but I already took one tonight). I've just heard of people taking both the first night, but it doesn't seem logical to me--it seems they should be spread out.
  6. Do you take 2 pills together, or one that evening and then start the 2/day the next day? I forgot to ask the pharmacist. When I see "one capsule by mouth twice a day" I think it should be spread out. This is an antibiotic.
  7. My 2nd endodontist was very pleased with the job the first guy did. He said that usually when he has to finish a root canal that someone else started that he often has issues with how well the first one was done. He said mine was perfect. So if anyone wants a recommendation to an endodontist in Newport News, WV.... :thumbup1:
  8. I think part of the reason I was charged for 2 full root canals is that I went to 2 different endodontists in 2 different states. The first was while we were on vacation--3 hours after arriving, as I was unwilling to put off my vacation to stay home for a root canal (and we were meeting friends there, who were also coming in from out of state, so I didn't want this to affect their vacation plans either); and the other was a week, no 2 weeks later, back home. (I did get to enjoy my vacation--the work the first guy did, plus the antibiotics helped immensely).
  9. I missed that comment about the mouse...I use a mouse with mine--I don't have a touch screen, if that's what you're referring to, sheryl. I do have a touch pad, but prefer the mouse most of the time.
  10. If you want, you can just let me know here that you'll join us for lunch. Or you can pm me with your facebook name, and I can send an invite to the fb group.
  11. Very similar to your case--I had to have a root canal a year or so ago--turns out the tooth was so infected that they could only do about 3/4 of the root canal. I was on antibiotics for a week before it could be finished. We had to be charged for 2 root canals. Fun. I didn't have warning signs for mine--just very severe pain, and then a tooth that was very sensitive to pressure.
  12. Ok, that's what I was thinking they must be. Yeah, it's only the upper right corner and lower right corner that accesses them. So go there if you want them; keep your cursor away from that area if you don't. I really like Windows 8. I don't have any problems with it. I had a little bit of a learning curve to figure out how to do a couple of things when we first got it, but now I've got the hang of it.
  13. I made an eggplant (no noodle) meat lasagna a couple of weeks ago. I also made one just like it but with zucchini instead of eggplant. I peeled both, then sliced thin (with the slicing part of my cheese grater). I baked the slices for a few minutes on a baking sheet in the oven to remove some of the moisture. Made my lasagna as usual, but with the veggies in place of noodles. We had these at a meal with another family with varying tastes in food--some of them are used to eating experiments, some are resigned to eating what their wives concoct  . The consensus was that the zucchini was much better. The eggplant was a bit chewy & rubbery. That's one I won't use again in lasagna. To me, the eggplant kind of looked and tasted a bit like partially cooked mushroom--didn't mind that part, it just didn't turn out as well as the zucchini.
  14. Somebody please tell me what the "charms" are! Is it the Search/Share/Start/Devices/Settings bar to the right? Only putting the cursor in the right hand corner makes that pop up. If you like to keep your cursor off to the side, just don't put it *there*, and you won't have a problem. Edit: I just found that the top right corner does it too. Stay away from the corners! Unless you're looking for something.
  15. I think it's a myth--goes along with thinking (myth) that you should not eat saturated fat and that you should eat low fat.
  16. I don't know what's causing the font problem--what program are you using when that happens? Is the "other screen" the desktop? That would be happening if you have your cursor in the lower right corner. Move it to another location and it won't do that.
  17. Chrome has a bookmarks bar--love it. I'm guessing it's what your favorites bar is.
  18. I have Windows 8 and like it. But what's the charms bar? There is a start icon--it's just hidden. Put your mouse into the lower left corner and it'll pop up. You can also go to the lower right corner and you get a pop up bar of choices along the left side of the screen--start menu icon included. I don't use IE, I use Chrome. I don't have a problem with paragraph breaks. I started using Chrome when I had Windows 7 because IE didn't work well for a facebook game I played.
  19. Edit to my original post, as the meetup has been changed from Rock Bottom at 11:30 am to Room 250 at the convention center at 5:30-6:30 pm Friday--already we have a much larger group committing to the meetup at the 5:30 time than the 11:30--the more the merrier! __________________________________________________________________________ If you're going to the Midwest Homeschool Convention, we'd love to meet you for lunch supper on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11:30 am 5:30-6:30 pm at the Rock Bottom Brewery Room 250 at the convention center. Elizabeth started the planning and asked me to take over the coordinating of the get together. And Elizabeth was able to snag us the room at the convention center! I think it's much more convenient for most of us. We have a discussion group on facebook, which you're invited to, but I thought I'd post here also, to catch anyone not on facebook or who isn't aware of that group. Here's Elizabeth's info on the meetup: From those who have replied on facebook, so far we have around 7-8 planning to come. If you'd like to join us, let me know. Here is their menu. Prices are reasonable. __________________________________________________________________________________________ You can bring your own food in from the exhibit hall or wherever, but we're also placing a group order from Chipotle. Two of us are going to pick it up and will bring it to the room. If you'd like to order Chipotle, pm me your email address. I'm sending out the group order invites tomorrow (Monday, April 1). If I don't have your email before I send the invites out, I can't send any more, but I can enter your order manually into the group order. If you need me to place your order manually, go here to Chipotle's site, enter Cincinnati, OH for the location, choose the Fountain Square restaurant. Then you can look at the menu and make your choices. (For some dumb reason, since all Chipotle restaurants are closed for Easter, it won't let you even look at the online ordering menu today. You should be able to see it using the instructions above starting tomorrow, April 1.) If you've given me your email address, you'll receive an email Monday (I will probably wait until later afternoon to give more people a chance to send their emails, if interested) from Chipotle that has a link that takes you to the group order so you can place your order. There are bottled beverages available--water, juice and sparkling juice. Please don't order a fountain drink, as I don't think we'll be able to transport them without a mess. We have 13-14 planning to order Chipotle so far. There are others planning to bring their own food.
  20. If you need the elevator too close to the first morning session, yes the elevators can be slow & crowded. But when I leave early enough, it's not a problem. Later in the morning or later in the day is not a problem, either. We've stayed at the Millennium twice, once at the Hilton, and are staying at the Millennium again this year, south tower. We stayed in the north tower the first year and had elevator issues. Hilton was the 2nd year. Millennium again the 3rd year, south tower, no problems with elevator, but by this time I knew to leave early. Also, the elevators were crowded at the Hyatt during the day the 2nd year with people trying to get to sessions held there (or was that year 1??). Now I try to avoid going to sessions held at the hotels at all. They usually put the lesser known speakers there now, compared to the first couple of years. Oh, and as far as sessions at hotels and elevators are concerned, I think it's more of an issue at the Hyatt than Millennium because of the layout of the hotels concerned. I think the meeting rooms at the Millennium are on the 2nd floor, which is where the skywalk comes across, so there's no need to take an elevator to get there, or you can take the escalator from the 1st floor. At the Hyatt they have a funny layout that's hard to figure out--lots of half levels and bunny trails. :)
