  1. I do mostly Office Max and Meijer because those two stores are within 5 minutes of my house. I can usually stock up on dry erase markers, washable markers, composition books, binders and crayola crayons.
  2. We LOVE our ford flex. Soon to be a family of five :)
  3. Ugh I do not want to do anything on my list today but it has to get done because we're leaving tomorrow :/ I don't even want to go... done: breakfast drive with dh to drop his truck off wash diapers pack suitcases pack activities for girls lunch - soup to do: pack food dinner: pesto pasta with swiss chard
  4. IMHO the sex was kind of gratuitous. And I'm not usually even concerned about it at all. It was just very surprising.. I just read them over the winter. Not that I didn't consider them worthy reads, just something to think about :)
  5. My five year old never stops singing and the two and a half year old seems to be following suit... I just figure it's one more thing they're "allowed" to do as a homeschooler that wouldn't fly in a classroom!
  6. Once you get past the first book of the Earth's Children series, there is a LOT of sex in them. Just an FYI.
  7. The rest of the books in the series are good, but quite a bit different. I found them more difficult to get through (and I flew through Ender's Game). Maybe: Songmaster by Card Ender's Shadow is good. It's a companion book set at the same time as Ender's Game
  8. LOVE homeschooling in MI. No reporting or registering at all and there are lots of groups, classes, co-ops and other homeschoolers if you're interested in joining :)
  9. done: breakfast, although neither child would touch it except me (hence why they're now tantrumming) dishes round 1 load laundry fold laundry lunch: pancakes (aka breakfast number 2 since no one would eat 1) clean shower reorganize the girls' bookcase Take stuff to garage freezer dinner- nachos baths for girls freeze leftover pancakes to do: stay sane freeze leftover chicken
  10. Done done done. The only thing that didn't get finished was baths for the girls. We'll do those tomorrow.
  11. Yes, we see a family practice for general care, as well as for my children. I wasn't happy with any of the pediatricians we found... I do see a midwife/ob practice for gynecological health.
  12. For some reason, I keep adding stuff to my list. No clue why. At least my house is relatively clean for the time being... less for MIL to complain/comment on when she comes over. Sorry for all the lousy sleep everyone! It's an epidemic. I hope mine gets better when dh returns from his business trip. Only two more nights to go.
  13. I've been wearing some generic coobie-like bras I got in a co-op and LOVE them. They were less than $2 a bra. I just bought 6 more.
  14. I was up at 3 with an awake 2 year old who took almost two hours to go back asleep and then up at 5:30 for the day. I'm exhausted already. And we can't even do early bedtime because MIL is coming over for dinner. UgH! Done: dishes round 1 Breakfast Freeze more strawberries Grocery trip make strawberry jam Laundry Lunch Dishes round 2 Make strawberry chia puree for tomorrow's breakfast Vacuum Prep and freeze two bags of apple pie filling freeze rest of strawberries clean up living room have dd mop kitchen clean toilet To do: baths for girls dinner with MIL...
  15. I am on the other side of the camp. We got rid of our strollers after never using them with our first and got a cheap $10 umbrella stroller instead. I babywear all my kids until they're at least 1 1/2 and then they walk. We only use the stroller for ocassional zoo trips and races while traveling.
  16. Deans beans or chock full of nuts. I don't mind starbucks blonde either. http://www.deansbeans.com/
  17. Done: Breakfast 2 loads laundry Hospital for glucose test-- passed! freeze chickpeas I cooked yesterday Lunch: sandwiches and strawberries Finish grocery list for tomorrow prep strawberries for jam tomorrow prep and flash freeze some strawberries to freeze once I get bags tomorrow dinner To do: sort/fold two loads of laundry
  18. We started out doing park days with a small group. If there hadn't been one, I would have started one. I think you really have to make it a priority if it's something that's important to you. Getting together for a class or an activity isn't as good at getting kids to "socialize" like they will with a free time activity. I have noticed that a lot of homeschoolers in my area are really overbooked and school at home every day all day with no free time. That would make it difficult.
  19. Coconut milk would be yummy, as is coconut water. I use water kefir in smoothies a lot.
  20. I really liked peach and kale with or without blueberries.
  21. I really enjoyed the books but not sure I'll be personally reading them aloud...
  22. Thanks for the birthday wishes! I decided to take the girls strawberry picking so back to my list... plus 15 lbs of strawberries to contend with.
