I do mostly Office Max and Meijer because those two stores are within 5 minutes of my house. I can usually stock up on dry erase markers, washable markers, composition books, binders and crayola crayons.
Ugh I do not want to do anything on my list today but it has to get done because we're leaving tomorrow :/ I don't even want to go...

IMHO the sex was kind of gratuitous. And I'm not usually even concerned about it at all. It was just very surprising.. I just read them over the winter. Not that I didn't consider them worthy reads, just something to think about :)
My five year old never stops singing and the two and a half year old seems to be following suit... I just figure it's one more thing they're "allowed" to do as a homeschooler that wouldn't fly in a classroom!
The rest of the books in the series are good, but quite a bit different. I found them more difficult to get through (and I flew through Ender's Game).
Maybe:
Songmaster by Card
Ender's Shadow is good. It's a companion book set at the same time as Ender's Game
LOVE homeschooling in MI. No reporting or registering at all and there are lots of groups, classes, co-ops and other homeschoolers if you're interested in joining :)

Yes, we see a family practice for general care, as well as for my children. I wasn't happy with any of the pediatricians we found... I do see a midwife/ob practice for gynecological health.
For some reason, I keep adding stuff to my list. No clue why. At least my house is relatively clean for the time being... less for MIL to complain/comment on when she comes over.
Sorry for all the lousy sleep everyone! It's an epidemic. I hope mine gets better when dh returns from his business trip. Only two more nights to go.
I was up at 3 with an awake 2 year old who took almost two hours to go back asleep and then up at 5:30 for the day. I'm exhausted already. And we can't even do early bedtime because MIL is coming over for dinner. UgH!

We started out doing park days with a small group. If there hadn't been one, I would have started one. I think you really have to make it a priority if it's something that's important to you. Getting together for a class or an activity isn't as good at getting kids to "socialize" like they will with a free time activity. I have noticed that a lot of homeschoolers in my area are really overbooked and school at home every day all day with no free time. That would make it difficult.
It's my birthday, so not much. I was up at 4:30 tending to my dog, so yet another reason for not much...
