  1. This is for my special needs kiddo. He will be 7 this month. He has cerebral palsy and ADHD (I suspect dyslexia too). I've been going really slow with him and trying to work at his pace. He started MFW K when he was 5 1/2 and we spread out the units and I added to it until I felt we could move on. It paid off, he's reading! It's only short sentences but he's reading! :hurray: We're about to finish MFW K and I'm not sure what to do next. I'm torn whether to combine him next fall in Core A with my youngest 3 or to let him keep moving at his pace. Until then (don't think I'm going to decide until the time comes), I need something to do with him. I've been thinking about moving onto MFW 1st but I've heard it moves fast and I'm not sure if he'll be able to keep up. Thoughts? :bigear:
  2. We bought them off iTunes. Our library also has them.
  3. :iagree: I love my hard wood floors (we only have carpet in the basement), we also have area rugs.
  4. That stinks. I want to use Core F (5) for my 10yo next year but we don't want to use their LA or bible and I really don't want to have it sitting on my shelf (I have enough stuff for that!). I'm thinking about just buying the core now but I haven't decided 100% if thats the direction I wanted to go in. :glare:
  5. We've read that book before. It's on dd10's shelf somewhere probably. She loved that book! If I remember too, I'll probably use this book as a read aloud for my younger kiddos. :)
  6. Too similiar for me. I have 3 siblings and all of our names start with C and sound pretty similar. I hated it. I didn't even want my kids to have the same first letter. ;) I have my kids names in my sig. Some other names I'll never get to use.. Elliot Bryan Robert Seth Christian Christopher Wyatt Jace Quinton/Quinn
  7. No advice just :grouphug:'s, It's hard to have a child get a serious diagnosis. Praying for you and yours! :grouphug:
  8. Found it! It's the Handle on the Arts guide. :001_smile:
  9. :iagree: Talk to the other parents of middle/highschool students, they're probably feeling the same way. Offer to teach 1 academic subject and ask other parents if they could do the same. I wouldn't give up a great co-op until I had too.
  10. I've also been using (mostly) Ambleside online with my 10 year old for 5 years! She's learning a ton :001_smile: I'm probably going to be using Sonlight next year for her though to get some more formal work to prepare for highschool (she'll be in 6th grade). We also get some book lists off of http://www.livingbookscurriculum.com/ Hope that helps!
  11. I found it on here before but I can't seem to find it again :glare: There was a guide for Sonlight Core A that had hands on activities. It looked perfect for this fall. Any idea what I'm talking about? :bigear:
